Gorodeya vs. FC Minsk Betting Preview – Belarusian Premier League, May 8
Two middling sides meet on Friday as Gorodeya and FC Minsk go head to head. There is a definite clash of styles here, so it will be interesting to see whether the defensive qualities of the home side can overcome the more cavalier FC Minsk.
Both clubs could do with some points to keep from dropping further down the table and becoming involved in a prolonged battle against the drop.

Gorodeya vs. FC Minsk Odds
BetOnline has FC Minsk as the favorite to win this one, but only just. I’m not sure I entirely agree considering the way the visitors have been brushed aside by a number of sides already this season. If Gorodeya can assert its authority, I would have thought a narrow home victory would be more likely.
Preview of Gorodeya vs. FC Minsk
Gorodeya has found a natural position around half-way in the Belarusian Premier League since coming up three or four years ago, and it looks as though this season will be more of the same. A strong defensive unit is the main reason for that consistency, although it could be tested by FC Minsk this week.
Gorodeya met its match in the defensive stakes last week as it met ultra-cautious Rukh Brest and eked out a 1-1 draw. That was actually a high-scoring game for the promoted club, and it gave Gorodeya just its fourth goal in seven games this season. But manager Oleg Radushko will be perfectly happy with that as long as a few points are won with those tactics.
FC Minsk plays a completely different way, however. Only league leader Slutsk has scored more than the capital city club, but it has also conceded more than anyone else in the league. That might make the games enjoyable to watch, but it does make it hard for Minsk to put together a good run of results.
The visitors sit in 12th going into this game and will need to work out how to stop opposing teams from scoring if it wants to climb the table anytime soon. Gorodeya might not trouble the Minsk keeper too much during this game, but there may not be many opportunities for a meaningful Minsk attack, either.
Prediction and Pick
Gorodeya to Win+176
There probably won’t be many goals to celebrate for either side in this one, but Gorodeya should be able to keep out the FC Minsk attempts and sneak a few of its own. That would give the home side its fourth win of the season — a tally that is fairly respectable given the size of the club. FC Minsk would then need to regroup and work on its own tactics to save its season.
