Gorodeya vs. Dinamo Minsk Belarusian Premier League

Last weekend was good for Gorodeya and Dinamo as they both picked up their first points of the season. But the level of opposition has not been particularly high, so there is still a lot that needs to happen before being able to predict a successful season for either side.

Dinamo Minsk would seem to have more of a chance of pulling itself up the league, thanks to its status in the Belarusian game. But manager Sergey Gurenko will be aware that he needs his multinational squad to start delivering if it is to break into the all-important European places this year.

I take a look at what might happen in this Gorodeya vs. Dinamo Minsk betting preview.

Odds for Gorodeya vs. Dinamo Minsk

Gorodeya to Win+334
The Draw+207
Dinamo Minsk to Win+100

Dinamo Minsk is the favorite to win this one, and that is understandable from BetOnline, considering the fact that it is the bigger club and has already started scoring goals this season, even if the positive results have not been forthcoming.

Gorodeya vs. Dinamo Minsk Preview

Gorodeya might sit just above Dinamo in the table, but its record does not make for happy reading. There has been just one goal scored in three games, bringing in three points, and that narrow victory was against bottom-of-the-table Belshina Bobruisk.

This is a club that finished well away from the relegation battle last season but looks more likely to be involved this time around if the opening rounds of fixtures are anything to go by. Energetik-BGU and BATE are up next after this one, so things could get a lot worse before they get better.

Dinamo Minsk will feel as though the win over Torpedo-BelAZ Zhodino in the last round was where the season really began, and now it can concentrate on achieving the top-three finish that would earn it a place in European competition next season. At least there have been some goals to celebrate, even if the two in the 3-2 loss to FC Minsk were really just consolations.

The goals have been shared around the team so far, which is a good sign for the squad as a whole, but a few more from young striker Ivan Bakhar might be expected after his offseason move from FC Minsk. Maybe he will get more of a chance against this Gorodeya defense.

Prediction and Betting Pick

  • Dinamo Minsk to Win

There is a school of thought that believes teams like Dinamo Minsk and BATE Borisov will not be circling around the lower reaches of the table for very long, and it is a fixture like this that could be the springboard for the visiting team here. Gorodeya looks to be struggling already this season, and Dinamo should be able to capitalize on its opponent’s weaknesses and take the points.
