Gen. G vs. MIBR Betting Preview and Prediction

We’re going to know the teams that will progress to the playoffs of Flashpoint Season 1 very soon. The second phase ends this week and there’s everything to play for.

Two of the squads that will be confident in their chances are Gen.G and MIBR. The Brazilians did enough already after earning 75 points in the opening phase and beating Orgless a couple of days ago to guarantee at least 30 from the second.

Gen.G is in a much tougher spot after the poor performance in Phase 1, but another victory could suffice for a place in the deciding stage of the CS:GO tournament.

This Gen.G vs. MIBR betting preview features an evaluation of both sides’ chances to win today’s match and finishes with a betting pick based on the odds of the best esports online bookmakers and my prediction.

Gen.G vs. MIBR Odds

  • G to win; -101
  • MIBR to win; -119
  • G (+1.5); -270
  • MIBR (-1.5); +205
  • Under 2.5; -132
  • Over 2.5; +104

As you can see by the Gen.G vs. MIBR odds offered by, the match is almost too close to call. Both teams have a strong chance to win and this should be a cracking show for the neutral CS:GO fans.

Gen.G – Another Victory Could Be Enough

Flashpoint 1 started well for Gen.G, as the team won its opening match against Envy. And yet, that victory was followed by two defeats and only 30 points from the opening phase of the competition.

That put the team in a tough position but the clean swipe of Dignitas at the start of Phase 2 brought some hope. Gen.G can qualify for the playoffs and one victory might be enough to complete the job.

It can come against MIBR or in the loser’s bracket, so Gen.G has some room to work with. The team should have some confidence after winning DreamHack Open Anaheim 2020 a month ago.

The problem is that the MIBR is the team that knocked out Gen.G in the first stage of Flashpoint Season 1 and the Brazilians look stronger nowadays.

MIBR – Gathering Momentum?

February was a disaster for MIBR, as the team lost a bunch of games in various competitions. The beginning of March brought even more inconsistent results for the Brazilians and at a certain point, the squad looked a bit lost.

And yet, MIBR bounced back to win its group in Phase 1 of Flashpoint Season and started Phase 2 with another victory. If you add to that yesterday’s strong performance against 100 Thieves in ESL Pro League, it’s clear that the Brazilians are getting their mojo back.

I was especially impressed by fer who’s been out of this world in the past couple of matches. He has stepped up big time and the rest of the squad has followed his lead. MIBR is becoming more and more dangerous by the minute and this is one of the teams to watch.

Gen.G vs. MIBR Prediction and Betting Pick

  • MIBR to win; -119

At this point, you probably know what my Gen.G vs. MIBR pick is going to be. I don’t think the match is as close as the bookmakers see it.  The Brazilian team is my favorite here and while I recognize that Gen.G has a chance to win, the price of -119 is more than enough for me to back MIBR.

We cover more CS:GO matches on Wednesday with similar previews, so make sure to check them out.
