Gangwon FC vs. Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors Betting Preview – K League 1, May 30

Gangwon FC vs. Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors K League 1

The reigning champions look to make it four out of four as they travel to take on a Gangwon side whose entertaining brand of soccer has not achieved the required results so far this season.

The home side was tipped by some to push on from last season’s sixth place finish, but the opening weeks have been a struggle. I’ve put together my thoughts below, along with my Gangwon FC vs. Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors prediction and betting pick.

Gangwon FC vs. Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors Odds

Gangwon FC to Win+334
The Draw+270
Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors to Win-120

Jeonbuk is, understandably, the clear favorite with sportsbook BetOnline to win this one. With three wins in a row, there is obviously a lot of confidence in a squad that has welcomed a number of arrivals without breaking its stride. The pricing looks just about spot on here.

Match Preview

It is difficult to look past Jeonbuk in any game at the moment as it has started the new season off in the same rich vein of form that it ended the last. The Green Warriors dominated the game against Daegu last week and ended up comfortably winning 2-0 to extend its 100% record.

A few more goals might be required from manager Jose Morais, but he could allow his players to play a more counter-attacking style against the creativeness of Gangwon. It may be seen as a risky tactic to employ, but there is enough talent in the Jeonbuk team to make it work against just about anyone at the moment.

Gangwon boss Kim Byung-soo is probably fairly frustrated that his way of playing the game isn’t quite working for his team at the moment. The draw with Seongnam last week was another case of two points being lost, rather one gained, and it only continued the patchy start to the season Gangwon has made.

The arrival of Jeonbuk in town is probably the last thing the Gangwon manager would have wanted as he attempts to iron out the weaknesses in his squad. The only win of the campaign is that rather fortuitous opening day victory over FC Seoul, and that kind of form probably isn’t good enough if Gangwon is to compete further up the table.

Prediction and Pick

  • Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors to Win

There are not going to be many occasions when Jeonbuk is not odds on to win a game in K League 1 this season, so if you are looking to bet on the Green Warriors, you need to pick your games wisely. These odds are not too bad for an away win, but you will need a substantial stake to make any real money.

You can find plenty more soccer betting opportunities for this weekend in the soccer category of our blog.
