G2 vs. Virtus.pro Betting Preview and Prediction

More than half of the matches in Group C of ESL Pro League Season 11 Europe have been completed. At least four from the six teams have a realistic chance of progressing to the next stage of the CS:GO competition, so every single clash from now can be crucial.

We have two matches today and this GS vs. Virtus.pro betting preview covers the second of them. I have included odds and analysis of both teams that I sum up in my prediction and betting pick at the end.

G2 vs. Virtus.pro Odds

  • G2 to win; -345
  • pro to win; +272
  • G2 (-1.5); +102
  • pro (+1.5); -130
  • Under 2.5; -152
  • Over 2.5; +130

Both teams will be looking to bounce back after losing their matches yesterday, but the prices of BetOnline suggest that G2 has a much bigger chance to win this one.

I picked this bookmaker because it offers more than 40 betting markets, but you could also try one of our other recommended esports betting sites.

G2 Esports Team Analysis

The start of the ESL Pro League was shaky for G2, but the team did win its opening two games. I expected that the trouble along the way and OG’s excellent performance would serve an alarming bell and the team would step up in the third round.

Instead, G2 was completely wiped out by the opponent and didn’t even reach 10 rounds on any of the maps played yesterday. Sure, OG has been much better than anyone could’ve predicted, but it was still an embarrassing performance.

The team still sits third in the table and has everything to play for, so the next match against Virtus.pro represents a great chance to return to winning ways and reduce the damage.

Virtus.pro Team Analysis

I watched Virtus.pro versus mousesports yesterday and it was a weird match. The Russian team dominated both maps for large period but failed to capitalize. They were leading 12-4 on Vertigo and still end up losing somehow.

The reality is that mousesports simply upped the tempo every time they needed it and Virtus.pro couldn’t respond. The opening match of the team was similar and I think it’s hard to expect anything else in the upcoming clash against G2 Esports.

G2 vs. Virtus.pro Prediction and Pick

  • G2 (-1.5); +102

Wednesday’s match is crucial for the ambitions of both sides in the tournament. Another defeat would mean that Virtus.pro is done and dusted, while a victory for G2 Esports would put the team in a commanding position for second or third.

It’s hard to provide a G2 vs. Virtus.pro prediction based on what we’ve seen so far, but I still believe that the favorite will win this one. The opportunity to beat one of the weakest teams in the tournament is too good to miss and G2 should be able to bounce back from yesterday’s loss.

And considering how Virtus.pro has failed to win maps even when the squad has been playing well, I believe that the price of +102 for G2 to cover the -1.5 maps advantage is by far the best pick for this one.

We cover the other match from ESL Pro League Season 11, as well as a couple of more CS:GO matches today. You can read the betting previews from the links below.
