G2 vs. FaZe Betting Preview

Two old foes will clash today in Group B of the ESL One: Road to Rio event. G2 and FaZe know each other quite well but what is more important, they always stage great games and this one won’t be an exception.

The teams clinched their respective opening ties and both organizations look to be high on confidence right now. But who will have the edge today?

Things will definitely be tight but my G2 vs. FaZe will try to make the most out of the odds that the top rated esports betting sites have rolled out and point you to where the betting value lies.

I also include analysis of the recent form of both teams and form my prediction based on a combination of the betting prices, key stats, and past meetings.

Let’s get straight down to business.

G2 vs. FaZe Odds

The odds below are courtesy of BetOnline and here are the main betting markets for the clash:

Match Winner

G2 -109
FaZe -118

Map Advantage

G2 (-1.5) +258
FaZe (+1.5) -357

Total Maps Played

Under 2.5 -123
Over 2.5 -103

As you can see, there is not a lot that seprates the two teams. G2 have every reason to believe they are the favorite here but FaZe are a Top 10 outfit and there’s no way you’re beating them if you’re not on top of your game.

Let’s move on to the analysis part and I then proceed with my final prediction and a free betting pick you can take advantage of.

G2 Esports

The French organization failed to make it far in the ESL Pro League season 11. There were some emphatic wins over solid teams like Virtus.pro and today’s opponents FaZe, however, heavy losses to OG and mousesports condemned them to an early exit.

It was a disappointing outing for the current world number five but they seem to be back on track if their opening ESL One qualifier game against GODSENT is anything to go by.

Captain nexa and top marksman huNter- were exquisite on both Dust II and Vertigo and the tie was over before we knew it.

FaZe possess much more quality and experience at this level but it’s true that G2 have the edge in recent meetings.

FaZe Clan

After failing to trouble any of the big favorites in the advanced stage of the ESL Pro League, the Clan started the Road to Rio event with a good win against a tough North side.

They will kick themselves for letting a big lead slip on their favorite Inferno but elite performances from broky and captain NiKo will give the organization and their fans hope that they will be ready for the games against the big dogs.

However, they will need to start with a solid display against G2 Esports first and that’s something that hasn’t happened in a while.

G2 vs. FaZe Betting Prediction and Pick

Things can easily tilt both ways here. The pick and ban phase will be a key factor but I feel G2 should be able to get the win.

They dominated the last two meetings with FaZe and have been more consistent as of late. Their sweep of GODSENT and the fact that the Clan looked shaky against North is another reason for them to be confident ahead of today’s clash.

I liked how relentless the Frenchmen were in their first game so I expect they will keep up their focus for this one.

The odds of -109 look like a steal given all that so I’m going with an outright win for the slight favorite here.
