FURIA – Can They Bounce Back Quickly?
FURIA was on an absolute roll before Gen.G managed to overcome them in the ESL One: Road to Rio Grand Final.
It was yet another disappointing encounter with daps and company but it didn’t cause too much long-term damage as the Brazilians were immediately back at it.
They started the DreamHack event in top form and also had a positive outing against Chaos in their first BLAST Premier fixture.
However, yesterday’s loss against MIBR will definitely be hard to swallow. FURIA was the overwhelming favorite as they have dominated over their fellow countrymen for quite a while now.
But despite a good start on Inferno, the team’s form dropped towards the end which allowed FalleN, fer, and TACO to wrap up a 16:13 win and record their first victory over their rivals this season.
Captain arT and his teammates are not ones to sulk but I’m sure that the defeat will cause a drop in confidence and this is not something that helps you out, especially when you’re contesting matches in Best of 1 format.
Gen.G – Another Tactical Masterclass on the Way?
After winning the Road to Rio event, I was fully expecting Gen.G to top their DreamHack Masters group but a heavy loss against an inspired 100 Thieves team proved too costly.
They did improve against Team Liquid but were again nowhere near their tactical best when they faced Cloud9.
The win against Liquid was enough to hand them a spot in the Lower Bracket but fans were concerned that daps and the rest are running out of steam a bit.
However, a solid start against Chaos Esports in the current tournament was exactly the pick-me-up everyone needed. Marksmen koosta, s0m, and BnTeT were back to their best and although Chaos’ roster is not exactly elite, the win will do Gen.G a world of good.
They should be ready with the plan to tackle FURIA on any map and their superior head-to-head record against the Brazilians hands them a massive psychological advantage here.
FURIA vs. Gen.G Betting Prediction and Pick
FURIA’s loss against MIBR comes at the worst possible time as they now have to face their Achilles heel today.
Gen.G is the only North American outfit that can really challenge the lightning-paced Brazilians consistently and all the players know that full well.
Captain arT and his trusted generals yuurih and KSCERATO will not lie down but I feel there will be a bit of a gloomy atmosphere within the ranks.
If daps can rally his troops early and rack up a good round advantage, I don’t see how FURIA will be able to claw their way back.
In any case, the odds for backing Gen.G are fantastic and I simply can’t miss out on them given the current circumstances.
