  • 3 Lolanita, D Centeno, 6/1
  • 4 Nikki Bella, A Santos, 7/2
  • 5 Dreaming Diamonds, W Martinez, 3/1
  • 6 Cultural Mandate, O Hernandez, 10/1
  • 7 I’llmakeyousmile, R Mena, 5/1
  • 8 Checotah, G Garcia, 12/1

Race 2 Prediction and Pick

Publicist, with Antonio Gallardo aboard, is the 5/2 favorite in this race, with both Dreaming Diamonds (3/1) and Nikki Bella (7/2) close behind. While Publicist leads this field in career wins, I’m going with Dreaming Diamonds, ridden by Willie Martinez. This four-year-old filly has a better win percentage than the favorite does, with 11 money finishes, including 7 wins, in her 21 career starts.

Race 2 Tip

At slightly longer odds than the top three favorites, I’llmakeyousmile, with Raul Mena aboard, seems to thrive in the Florida climes, having achieved all four of her career wins at either Tampa Bay Downs or Gulfstream Park. It could happen.

  • Dreaming Diamonds

  • Post Time: 3:33 PM
  • Purse: $14,500
  • Type: CLAIMING
  • Distance: 1 mile (turf)
  • Conditions: For Four Year Olds And Upward. If deemed inadvisable by management to run this race over the turf course, it will be run on the main track at One Mile and Forty Yards

Race 7 Runners and Odds Forecast

  • 1 English Laughter, H Hernandez, 12/1
  • 2 Rudiger, R D Allen, Jr., 10/1
  • 3 King Tide, K J Coa, 30/1
  • 4 Fox Rox, R Feliciano, 7/2
  • 5 Hey Big Guy, S Spieth, 8/1
  • 6 Pure Luck, R Mena, 5/1
  • 7 Big Money Machine, T B Mejia, 15/1
  • 8 D’craziness, K Mendez, 3/1
  • 9 Enduring Honor, G Wales, 4/1
  • 10 Little Leo, C C Lopez, 15/1

Race 7 Prediction and Pick

D’craziness is the 3/1 favorite in this race, with Fox Rox and Enduring Honor close behind at 7/2 and 4/1, respectively. I’m going to go with the nine-year-old gelding Fox Rox, who’s no stranger to the turf at Tampa Bay Downs, with most of his 86 career starts there, giving him 56 money finishes, 18 of which were wins.

Race 7 Tip

Aside from the three favorites, most of this field is uninspiring for the longshot wager, but Little Leo, with Charles Lopez aboard, has a better career record than his 15/1 moneyline suggests. Don’t bet the farm, but worth a flyer.

  • Fox Rox

  • Post Time: 4:37 PM
  • Purse: $17,700
  • Type: CLAIMING
  • Distance: 1 mile (turf)
  • Conditions: For Fillies Three Years Old. If deemed inadvisable by management to run this race over the turf course, it will be run on the main track at One Mile and Forty Yards

Race 9 Runners and Odds Forecast

  • 1 Sugar Fix, R D Allen, Jr., 5/2
  • 2 Argentinian Roots, J R Herrera, (SCRATCHED)
  • 3 Peace Taker, S Spieth, 6/1
  • 4 Strong Gem, A Suarez, 10/1
  • 5 Matinee Girl, A A Gallardo, 7/2
  • 6 Fashion Frame, W Martinez, 12/1
  • 7 Bella Linda, J E Lopez, 20/1
  • 8 Sayyida Al Hurra, D Centeno, 5/1
  • 9 Melissani, H Hernandez, 15/1
  • 10 Pert, R Mena, 6/1

Also Eligibles:

  • 11 Miss Dawn, J J Urdaneta, 30/1

Race 9 Prediction and Pick

Sugar Fix at 5/2 is a solid favorite in this race, and I’m going to stick with her. Her eight career starts have been almost entirely at Tampa Bay Downs, and with each successive start, she gets better and better. The pole position and veteran jockey Ronald Dale Allen Jr. clinch the deal.

Race 9 Tip

Fashion Frame is a lot more likely here than her 12/1 moneyline makes her appear. Sure, she didn’t do particularly well with her first three career starts at Churchill Downs and Gulfstream Park, but since she’s been running at Tampa Bay Downs, she’s scored a win and a second. With world-class jockey Willie Martinez aboard for this race, she could add another win to that record.

If you’re not feeling quite that adventurous, try Peace Taker at 6/1, with Scott Spieth aboard.

  • Sugar Fix
