Race 1 Runners and Odds Forecast

  • 1 Turnstone, J Rocco, Jr., 2/1
  • 2 Get One More, L S Quinonez, 3/1
  • 3 Mocha Kiss, K Harr, 10/1
  • 4 Florida Bird, W De La Cruz, 5/2
  • 5 Jeweled Crown, T Baze, 6/1
  • 6 Bendi Blu, S Elliott, 20/1
  • 7 Count Ur Bless’n, J E Felix, 20/1
  • 8 Sattersfield, T Wales, 30/1
  • 9 Button Mushroom, C Bailey, 15/1

Race 1 Prediction and Pick

The moneyline favors Turnstone, Florida Bird, and Get One More so strongly that you’d almost think the other horses are running in an entirely different race. But no, they’re all in this together. Much as I’d like to pick a tasty longshot here, I’m going to have to stick with Turnstone at 2/1. With veteran jockey Joseph Rocco Jr. aboard, and with that sweet, sweet pole position, it is—How do you say? Ah yes: A mortal lock.

Pick
  • Turnstone
    2/1

RACE 8

  • Post Time: 4:38 PM
  • Purse: $61,000
  • Type: ALLOWANCE

Race 8 Runners and Odds Forecast

  • 1 Road Test, A L Canchari, 4/1
  • 2 Crystal Lake, D Cannon, 10/1
  • 3 Out of Trouble, R Santana, Jr., 7/2
  • 4 Kiss More, S Elliott, 4/1
  • 5 Deputy Dora, T J Thompson, 8/1
  • 6 Lemon Drop Kitty, J Talamo, 10/1
  • 7 Drinkatthecreek, C Roberts, 30/1
  • 8 Madame Barbarian, W De La Cruz, 12/1
  • 9 Luna Fortis, M Garcia, 6/1
  • 10 Resurrection Road, J Rocco, Jr., 6/1

Race 8 Prediction and Pick

This race looks more open than usual. And even though Out of Trouble is the moneyline favorite at 7/2, I’m going to go with Road Test, ridden by Alex Canchari, at 4/1. The advantageous pole position and virtually the same WPS stats as the favorite are enough to convince me. YMMV.

And Drinkatthecreek is your longshot choice here at 30/1. This horse has been in the money more often than not in her 12 career starts and has pulled wins twice.

Pick
  • Road Test
    4/1

RACE 9

  • Post Time: 5:09 PM
  • Purse: $61,000
  • Type: ALLOWANCE OPTIONAL CLAIMING
  • Distance: 1-1/16 miles
  • Conditions: For Fillies Three Years Old Which Have Never Won $15,000 Other Than Maiden, Claiming, Starter, Or State Bred Or Which Have Never Won Two Races Or Claiming Price $80,000

Race 9 Runners and Odds Forecast

  • 1 Lucky Betty, D Cannon, 7/2
  • 2 Seattle Slang, R Santana, Jr., 9/2
  • 3 Raggedy Annie, D Cohen, 4/1
  • 4 Henny Fly, W De La Cruz, 10/1
  • 5 First Empress, J Talamo, 20/1
  • 6 Elusive Ride, J Rocco, Jr., 15/1
  • 7 Lightning Bug, S Elliott, 30/1
  • 8 Auction Fever, M Garcia, 9/2
  • 9 Copper Nickel, C Roberts, 6/1
  • 10 Rumpleminx, T J Thompson, 30/1
  • 11 Magine, J V Bridgmohan, 6/1

Race 9 Prediction and Pick

I’m going with Magine at 6/1 for the simple reason that despite the fact she’s got the worst post position, and despite the fact that jockey Jermaine V. Brignohan has had better years, Magine had won money in 75% of her (admittedly few) career starts and placed first in nearly half of them.

Pick
  • Magine
    6/1
