- Tiger Blood, E J Zayas, 1/1
- Chaps, C Landeros, 12/1
- What’s Inside, D Davis, 7/2
- Factorino, L Reyes, 30/1
- Frenchmen Street, L Saez, 9/2
- Sturgeon, L Panici, 20/1
- Coop Tries Harder, M A Vasquez, 8/1
Race 5 Prediction and Pick
Want a sure thing? Tiger Blood at 1/1 is about as close as you’ll get. With 45 career starts—28 of them in the money and 18 of them first-place finishes—this isn’t even a race. It’s a rout. Probably doesn’t help that Tiger Blood has an enviable post position, and he’s ridden by Edgard Zayas, who has his own sterling stats. If you bet on any other horse in this race—What’s Inside at 7/2, for instance—you can kiss that two bucks goodbye.
Incidentally, Frenchmen Street at 7/2 follows Tiger Blood in number of career starts (25), but his career wins (4) don’t do much to recommend him.
For a longshot, think about wagering on Sturgeon (20/1 moneyline) with Luca Panici aboard, then put your money back in your pocket.

Race 8 Runners and Odds Forecast
- Nope, D Davis, 10/1
- Secret Stash, E J Zayas, 9/2
- Eve of War, L Saez, 9/5
- New Day Dawning, C Landeros, 8/1
- Skye Snow, M A Vasquez, 6/1
- Ella Brilla, E Jaramillo, 8/1
- Apogee, L Panici, 10/1
- Lady Panda, J Bravo, 15/1
- Sunset Promise, N Juarez, 8/1
Race 8 Prediction and Pick
Eve of War, with Luis Saez aboard, is the 9/5 favorite in this filly free-for-all. But with only two career starts, she is one of the least experienced thoroughbreds in this race, beaten only by 10/1 Apogee with one career start (which she won).
If we’re going on experience and results—and I am—I’d say Lady Panda, ridden by veteran Joe Bravo, has the best of it, with eight career starts resulting in six finishes in the money, two of which were wins.

- Hunting Season, E J Zayas, 7/2
- Believe Indeed, M A Vasquez, 8/1
- Shrewdness, L Panici, 6/1
Race 9 Prediction and Pick
Like the fifth race above, this field has a definite winner—the moneyline just isn’t bragging about it this time. While most of the ladies in this race are three or four years old with few career starts and one or two wins to show for them, Believe Indeed is a seven-year-old mare with 47 career starts and an impressive 27 of them in the money. Oh, and 9 wins. Veteran jockey Miguel Angel Vasquez is aboard. What’s not to like?
