Race 1 Prediction and Pick

Like any maiden race for two-year-olds, this will be a much different race than the moneyline suggests—particularly since the best jockeys are not riding favored horses. That said, I do like the 2/1 favorite, Bobby Brinkley, with veteran jockey C. J. McMahon aboard. Of the jockeys riding the three top favorites, McMahon has the best wins/WPS stats.

Race 1 Tip

At 15/1, it’s hard to resist a wager on Lucky Promise, ridden by the winningest jockey in this race, David Cabrera. My advice: Don’t resist.

  • Bobby Brinkley

  • Post Time: 3:11 PM
  • Purse: $34,000
  • Distance: 7-1/2 furlongs (turf)
  • Conditions: For Maidens, Fillies And Mares Three Years Old And Upward. If deemed inadvisable by management to run this race over the turf course, it will be run on the main track at One Mile

Race 4 Runners and Odds Forecast

  • 1 Goingtoagogo, R E Eramia, 5/2
  • 2 Queen Arcana, L S Quinonez, 20/1
  • 3 American Dream, S Elliott, 4/1
  • 4 Joy to the World, Q Hamilton, 30/1
  • 5 Air Walker, L Wade, 20/1
  • 6 Mizzanna, L J Luzzi, 15/1
  • 7 Visual Magic, R A Vazquez, 7/2
  • 8 Gold Included, A Contreras, 20/1
  • 9 Taylor’s Lightning, SCRATCHED
  • 10 Tasmin, C McMahon, 30/1
  • 11 Gracely, D Cabrera, 12/1
  • 12 Flamigo Bay, D Sorenson, 3/1

Race 4 Prediction and Pick

Another maiden race, but this time with fillies who have some history. I like the 5/2 favorite Goingtoagogo, piloted by Richard Eramia and starting from the pole position. This filly has moneyed three times in her six career starts—not a bad record in this field. She may see some competition from the third-favored Visual Magic, with Ramon Vazquez aboard, but I believe she will prevail.

Race 4 Tip

You may want to consider a show wager on the 30/1 longshot Tasmin, ridden by C.J. McMahon. This filly has one finish in the money out of three career starts, and as I’ve mentioned before, McMahon has a solid record himself.

  • Goingtoagogo

  • Post Time: 4:15 PM
  • Purse: $34,000
  • Distance: 1 mile
  • Conditions: For Texas Accredited Maidens, Fillies And Mares Three Years Old And Upward

Race 6 Runners and Odds Forecast

  • 1 Heavenly Rhythm, S Risenhoover, 15/1
  • 2 Marcy’s Gray Girl, E Valdez-Jiminez, 12/1
  • 3 Paula’s Playlist, D P Vergara, 20/1
  • 4 Jewel Street, L J Luzzi, 9/2
  • 5 Night N Red Satin, E G Ruiz, 20/1
  • 6 Airline Drive, S Elliott, 2/1
  • 7 Sweet Linda, D Cabrera, 8/5
  • 8 Veilazig, A Contreras, 8/1

Race 6 Prediction and Pick

I’m going with the 8/5 favorite in this race: Sweet Linda, with David Cabrera in the irons. This filly has finished in the money one time, but in her defense, she’s only had two career starts.

Race 6 Tip

Consider a show bet on Paula’s Playlist at 20/1. She’s piloted by Daniel Vergara in this race. She’s had five career starts with nothing to show for it, but Vergara has a very solid record for money finishes.

  • Sweet Linda
