Race 4 Runners and Odds Forecast

  • 2 Bridge Dancer, W Martinez, 5/1

  • 5 Chick’s Shadow, A Suarez, 12/1
  • 6 Gogo Shoes, S Spieth, 5/2
  • 7 Judy’s Way, D Centeno, 4/1

Race 4 Prediction and Pick

I like Bridge Dancer at 5/1 for this race. Sure, there are three other fillies more favored, but none of those equal or surpass Bridge Dancer’s career starts. Out of nine starts, she’s moneyed in seven, two of which were wins. Veteran jockey Willie Martinez and a near-pole position are, for me, the clinchers here.

Race 4 Tip

The longshots in this race are longshots for a reason, so let’s not go there for this one.

Pick
  • Bridge Dancer
    5/1

RACE 5

  • Post Time: 3:00 PM

Race 5 Runners and Odds Forecast

  • 1 Peaceful Feeling, S Spieth, 9/2
  • 2 Haniel, K Mendez, 10/1
  • 3 Alydarius, J A Garcia, 20/1
  • 4 Clear as Day, A Suarez, 8/1
  • 5 Stormy D, R Mena, 4/1
  • 6 Itsherluckyday, A Santos, 15/1
  • 7 Fashion’s Star, A A Gallardo, 3/1
  • 8 Flighty Almighty, D Centeno, 7/2
  • 9 Sweetly Maid, G Wales, 10/1
  • 10 Uncommon Factor, SCRATCHED

Race 5 Prediction and Pick

Your best bet in this race is the favorite at 3/1, Fashion’s Star. What this filly may lack in record (only two career starts, one of which was a win), she more than makes up with her choice of pilots: ace jockey Antonio Gallardo. Gallardo has a very impressive wins/WPS record, and if he can’t get it done… well, I believe he can.

Race 5 Tip

Sweetly Maid at 10/1 is my pick for the longshot surprise. Out of 22 career starts, she moneyed in 16 of them, and three of those were wins. The only thing that might hold this mare back is a fair-to-middlin’ jockey (Gary Wales) and a post position practically in the parking lot.

Pick
  • Fashion’s Star
    3/1

RACE 8

  • Post Time: 4:30 PM
  • Purse: $20,000
  • Type: MAIDEN SPECIAL WEIGHT
  • Distance: 1 mile (turf)
  • Conditions: For Maidens, Three Years Old. Weight, 120 Lbs. Preference Will Be Given To Horses Which Have Not Started For Less Than $25,000. If deemed inadvisable by management to run this race over the turf course, it will be run on the main track at One Mile and Forty Yards

Race 8 Runners and Odds Forecast

  • 1 Talako, W A Garcia, 10/1
  • 2 Food and Wine, K J Coa, 8/1
  • 3 Storm Tracker, T B Mejia, 20/1
  • 4 Charliecando, J E Lopez, 8/1
  • 5 Safe and Sound, SCRATCHED
  • 6 Fit for a King, A Suarez, 8/1
  • 7 Curlin’s Thrill, G Wales, 8/1
  • 8 U S Army Corps, A A Gallardo, 7/5
  • 9 Big Dreaming, D Centeno, 6/1
  • 10 Belushi Samurai, A Quinonez, 30/1

Race 8 Prediction and Pick

The moneyline odds in this race make it appear to be more of a pre-victory party for the 7/5 favorite U S Army Corps, piloted by Antonio Gallardo. Only if this race moves to the main track or there are scratches for some other reasons will it be something very much like a horse race.

Race 8 Tip

Just take the two bucks you had set aside for a longshot and add that to your wager on the favorite. Or keep it in your pocket. Dealer’s choice.

Pick
  • U S Army Corps
    7/5
