Race 2 Prediction and Pick
The three outside horses are the three favorites in this race, with Banana Pepper, ridden by Armando Martinez, as the 5/2 moneyline favorite. I personally like the second-favored horse, Eastside Boy, at 3/1, with veteran jockey Jake Olesiak in the irons. Not only does Jake have a better wins/WPS score, but Eastside Boy has moneyed seven times in his 16 career starts.
Race 2 Tip
Only real longshot in this race is Praise Be to God at 10/1, piloted by Scott Bethke. Unfortunately, this five-year-old gelding scored his only win (and only money finish out of seven starts) back in 2018. Bethke has a good record, but I don’t think it’s enough to pull Praise Be to God out of his slump.

I’m going with the third-favored horse in this race, and my reasons are obvious. At 9/2, Chamber Doors has it all: Pole position, solid record of starts (8 money finishes, three of them wins), and Francisco Arietta, the only jockey at Fonner Park scoring higher in Wins/WPS than Olesiak. Could be a nail-biter, but Chamber Doors will prevail.

I’m sticking with the 5/2 moneyline favorite in this race, Lovethatcause, with Nathan Haar in the irons. Lovethatcause is no slouch: Out of 22 career starts, he’s moneyed in 18, with 4 of those wins.
Race 8 Tip
At 12/1, Jarred Journet’s mount, Luckynsuccessful, might be just that, what with the pole position and a solid record of career starts—14 starts, 9 money finishes, 4 of which were wins. Certainly worth a look. Incidentally, the other 12/1 longshot—London Legacy—has one of the better starting records in this field but has raced only once in 2020, and his last win was nearly a year ago. Put your longshot money on Luckynsuccessful.
