There were flashes of the displays that won them the ESL Pro League back in April and the team will now be hoping to get a huge win here and kickstart another positive run.

After beating GODSENT in their opening DreamHack fixture, NiKo and his squad somehow managed to steal the tie from Team Spirit in the second round.

The Russians romped to a huge win on Train and despite the fact that FaZe never really showed their true potential, they battled hard on Dust II and Nuke, and ultimately clinched both tiebreaks to secure a 2:0 record and top the group.

The captain was their best player and this bodes well for their chances in this tournament but top marksmen broky and coldzera both ended up with a negative kill/death ratio and that is definitely a problem that needs to be addressed fast.

If we only look at their latest displays, Fnatic is definitely the huge favorite. Their tie against GODSENT showed that the team has the ambition to improve after stringing together a bad run at the ESL One: Road to Rio event.

However, if we look at larger sample size, FaZe has every chance of sweeping their opponents today.

Yes, they were woeful against Team Spirit but the fact they came away with a win says a lot about how NiKo and his teammates can grind out results.

I expect they have learned their lesson and believe that they will be able to show the form that saw them get to the ESL One qualifiers semi-final without losing a single series.

The odds for a 2:0 win for FaZe are simply too good to turn down here so let’s hope broky and coldzera will show better aim today.
