FC Seoul vs. Incheon United Betting Preview With Pick – K League 1, June 27

Not many would have had this one down as a bottom-of-the-table clash before the season started. But with just eight points between them after eight games, FC Seoul welcomes Incheon United to the capital on Saturday.

It would not have been a complete surprise if BetOnline had priced this one much closer. FC Seoul has been very poor in the last few weeks, and it is only Incheon’s inability to win a game that sees the capital city off the foot of the table. But the home side is the better side theoretically, so these odds look about right to me.

Beating Ulsan to stop an unwanted consecutive defeats record was always going to be tough for FC Seoul, and the game played out as expected on Saturday, as the Horangi ending up winning by two goals to nil. There was also another goal for Junior at the end to confirm Seoul’s fifth loss in a row.

This season is turning out nowhere near how manager Choi Yong-soo envisaged after the third-place finish last year. Just two wins and the worst defensive record in K League 1 were definitely not expected. Osmar missing through injury has been a major blow, but FC Seoul needs to turn things around quickly.

The good news is that this could be the week where FC Seoul is able to dominate a weaker opponent. Incheon United is enduring an even worse season, with six defeats on the bounce and just two draws in eight league games so far. Last week saw another defeat to what was the only other winless team in Busan IPark.

That 1-0 loss also showed up the distinct lack of attacking threat that Incheon has shown this year. Go-to striker Stefan Mugosa has hardly had a chance in most games, and when he fails to score, there is usually a problem for the entire team. These two clubs might be at the bottom of the table, but it does seem as though there is a big difference in their respective chances.

The odds might not be the greatest, but this is an excellent chance for FC Seoul to belatedly get going this season. The results have been awful, and that is mainly down to a very leaky defense. A confidence-boosting clean sheet would be an even better result for the home side.
