FC Minsk vs. Rukh Brest Betting Preview – Belarusian Premier League, August 2

| August 1, 2020 12:35 am PDT

FC Minsk is still struggling a little after failing to fulfill two of its fixtures earlier in the season. The health and fitness of the players seem to be getting better, but the club is still perilously close to the foot of the table.

Rukh Brest, on the other hand, has enjoyed an excellent campaign so far and looks a good bet to finish comfortably in mid-table in its first-ever top-flight season.

My FC Minsk vs. Rukh Brest prediction and betting pick are below.

FC Minsk vs. Rukh Brest Odds

FC Minsk to Win+177
The Draw+209
Rukh Brest to Win+152

MyBookie may have priced Rukh Brest as the favorite to win this game, but the odds are very close for all outcomes. That is probably down to the Premier League new boys performing differently from week to week recently. I do think FC Minsk will struggle here, though, so the away win bet should hold the most value.

Match Preview

FC Minsk may have held BATE to just the two goals at half time in their game last weekend, but the floodgates well and truly opened in the second half with Kirill Alshevsky’s men finishing off with a 6-0 win — and one that could well have been even bigger than that.

The win over Energetik-BGU the week before had seemed like a good sign for the capital city club, but that remains its only victory in the last eight games. It was the third time that FC Minsk had conceded five or more goals in a single game as well. Even with the games in hand, it looks like it will be a relegation battle for FC Minsk this season.

Rukh Brest is one club that many pundits would have had being involved in that kind of struggle at the start of the season. But a cautious, defensive approach set out by manager Aleksandr Sednyov has worked wonders, with only five defeats from the 19 games played.

The shocking 8-1 win over Energetik-BGU definitely boosted the goals scored column, but it is not the usual way for Rukh. But there were six goals shared by the two sides in the game with Slavia Mozyr last weekend. Rukh was actually 3-1 up with just three minutes to go, so I imagine there will have been some more defensive drills on the training pitch this week.

FC Minsk vs. Rukh Brest Prediction and Pick

  • Rukh Brest to Win

If Smolevichi and Belshina can string together a few more wins soon, I think that the likes of Gorodeya and FC Minsk will be in some real trouble, as I’m not sure either has the fight to escape from an extended relegation tussle. It depends which Rukh Brest team turns up on Sunday, but I still think the away win is the way to go.
