FC Minsk vs. BATE Borisov Odds, Prediction, and Pick – Belarusian Premier League, April 12
Looking at the three games played by these two sides, there should be some goals on show when they meet on Sunday. Unfortunately for BATE Borisov, most of those have been put into its own net, but there are signs that the powerhouse of Belarusian soccer is finally starting to wake up this season.
FC Minsk has taken full advantage of the slow start by the bigger clubs in the league and will be ready to test itself against BATE and show everyone whether it is a realistic option for a title run this year.

FC Minsk vs. BATE Borisov Odds
BetOnline is obviously taking BATE Borisov’s narrow win over Rukh Brest last week as an indication that it is now ready to pick up some points and find a more familiar position in the league table. I’m not sure that it is quite there yet, and the odds for a win at home for Minsk look very tempting at first glance.
Minsk’s win over Belshina and then the derby victory against Dinamo immediately vindicated the inclusion of the new forward line in the starting eleven, with six goals scored in the two games. But the defeat to Energetik-BGU in the very next fixture now makes this meeting with BATE an early test for Andrey Razin’s side.
After last season’s disappointing mid-table finish, Minsk might not have been expected to be doing so well so early, but if more points can be added fairly quickly, there may be the chance this team could push for one of the top three spots in the league. There are some easier-looking games coming up after this one as well, so a positive result could set up a good streak for the capital club.
BATE manager Kirill Alshevskiy will demand that his players keep up the form that brought a first league win of the season last week but also that his strikers start scoring the goals that will see the team climb up the table. The poor form of some of the other pre-season favorites has given BATE a second chance that is not always the case in Belarusian soccer.
Neither Anton Saroka or Bojan Dubajic have scored yet this season for BATE, and the lack of new arrivals up front at the club is starting to look like an offseason mistake. Now would be a good time for either striker to open their account and get some much-needed points on the board.
FC Minsk vs. BATE Borisov Pick
BATE Borisov might be the big favorite to win this one, but the team’s form has been unimpressive so far this season, and I feel that not enough has been done to force the players into changing from the attitude that the wins will just appear.
Minsk has looked good so far, and although a home win doesn’t seem likely, the odds for a draw are too attractive to turn down.
