FaZe vs. c0ntact Betting Preview With Prediction and Pick – ESL One: Road to Rio, May 10th

FaZe vs. c0ntact Betting Preview, May 10, 2020

FaZe Clan and c0ntact Gaming will wrap up their Group B involvement at the ESL One: Road to Rio European division today.

The teams have had diametrically opposed fortunes at the tournament so far with the Clan winning all of their past six ties, while captain emi and his team losing the lot.

Will the bottom-dwellers find the resources to end their ESL One qualifying campaign on a high?

My FaZe vs. c0ntact betting preview for Sunday tries to answer this by analyzing the teams’ performances and the key stats surrounding them.

I also lay out a prediction and a free betting pick for you but first, let’s take a look at what the top rated CS:GO betting sites have in store for us.

FaZe vs. c0ntact Odds

Match Winner

FaZe -834
c0ntact +425

Maps Handicap

FaZe  (-1.5) -200
c0ntact (+1.5) +135

Maps Total

Over 2.5 +150
Under 2.5 -250

The prices you see above are taken from Betway’s sportsbook and I feel they give a fair representation of what’s to come.

These end-of-the-group ties often surprise us, though, so you shouldn’t outright dismiss c0ntact’s chances here.

Let’s move on to my team analysis and wrap things up with my prediction and pick.

FaZe – Another Merciless Performance?

The Clan has been by far the best outfit at the European ESL One qualifiers. NiKo and broky have laid waster to every opponent they met with some outstanding performances against G2 and mousesports in there.

Naturally, facing the bottom team means that the Germans will be a huge favorite to come away with another win. However, they are firmly in the top spot and are already concentrating on the playoffs.

Their most recent matchup with Copenhagen Flames did reveal a few flaws that the organization needs to iron out and I doubt that they will be looking to put in an extra effort against c0ntact today.

c0ntact – Can They Exit On a High?

The team has failed miserably in Group B although they had all the prerequisites in placeto make a good early push.

However, losses to Movistar Riders and CPH Flames in the first two rounds were a sign of things to come and emi’s teammates simply didn’t show up for the entirety of the event.

EspiranTo and SHiPZ both have a lot to answer for and the organization will hope that the failure here will be a good lesson for their CS:GO roster in its future endevors.

Despite all that, the team has every reason to believe they can stage at least some resistance today as they have won a map in five of their last six games.

The pressure if off, so let’s see if the key pieces can deliver here.

FaZe vs. c0ntact Prediction and Betting Pick

The teams haven’t men in a while and the last time they faced off, c0ntact’s roster was still playing under the CR4ZY brand.

They beat NiKo’s team then and still can surprise the elite echelon on a couple of maps. Given that they have come away with a map win against all the favorites in the group, I reckon they have what it takes to do it again.

FaZe can’t lose their top spot and will surely be looking ahead to the playoffs. I won’t be surprised to see them try a few new things as well.

Given the circumstances, I’m inclined to back emi’s team to snatch a round once again even if they don’t come away with a consolation win.

  • c0ntact (+1.5)
