Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 24 Tips – Best FPL Players, Transfers, Rankings, and More

| February 4, 2022 7:51 am PDT

Gameweek 24 of the Premier League season gets underway on Tuesday, February 8. That means it’s time for Fantasy Premier League managers to update their teams following the two-week lay-off.

A busy January transfer window saw plenty of players arrive in the EPL. Liverpool signed Luis Diaz from Porto for £40 million, Newcastle splashed the cash on multiple players, while Tottenham brought in Juventus duo Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur.

There were a number of high-profile departures, too, including Tanguy Ndombele, Anthony Martial, and Adama Traore. Make sure you don’t have those guys in your Premier League Fantasy teams!

I will be going over the best players for FPL Gameweek 24 in this post. I will cover the top FPL transfers to target, examine and handful of FPL differentials, and also share my Fantasy Premier League player rankings for Gameweek 24.

FPL Gameweek 24 Fixtures

As always, it is imperative that you assess the fixtures before selecting your FPL team for Gameweek 24. When it comes to picking the best FPL players for any given round, analyzing fixture difficult is key.

With Chelsea away at the FIFA Club World Cup, there are only nine fixtures scheduled for FPL Gameweek 24. That means Brighton also blank this week, as the Seagulls were supposed to face the Blues.

Here are the fixtures for FPL Gameweek 24.

  • Newcastle vs. Everton
  • West Ham vs. Watford
  • Burnley vs. Manchester United
  • Norwich vs. Crystal Palace
  • Tottenham vs. Southampton
  • Manchester City vs. Brentford
  • Aston Villa vs. Leeds
  • Liverpool vs. Leicester
  • Wolves vs. Arsenal

Heavy hitters like Manchester City and Liverpool have favorable fixtures on the horizon. Pep Guardiola’s men face struggling Brentford on Wednesday before Jurgen Klopp’s side faces a Leicester team that can’t stop conceding goals.

Tottenham and Aston Villa come up against Southampton and Leeds, respectively. Both Spurs and Villa will be confident of picking up a positive result in the upcoming round.

Right, it’s time to best Fantasy Premier League players for Gameweek 24.

Best Players for FPL Gameweek 24

Here are the best FPL players for Gameweek 24. Whether you’re looking to climb the overall rankings or dominate your mini leagues, the following players are must-own.

Kevin De Bruyne, Manchester City (£12.2m)

When I shared my tips for Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 23, Kevin De Bruyne was one of my top picks. Two weeks later, you shouldn’t be surprised to find him among my best players for FPL Gameweek 24.

The Man City maestro grabbed an assist against Southampton in the previous round, with many FPL managers captaining him in Mohamed Salah’s absence. Thanks to that assist, De Bruyne has notched four goals and two assist in his past seven EPL outings.

The Cityzens welcome Brentford to the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday. Not only have the Bees lost six of their last seven Premier League games, but they have also conceded over 2.5 goals in three of their previous four.

I expect De Bruyne to pick up plenty of FPL points in Gameweek 24.

Mohamed Salah, Liverpool (£12.7m)

Although Salah is still away at the Africa Cup of Nations with Egypt, he should be back in time for Thursday’s clash with Leicester. That makes him one of the top FPL picks for Gameweek 24.

Salah has missed the Reds’ previous two games. Still, he finds himself miles clear of West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen on the EPL’s goal involvements leaderboard. You simply cannot ignore his outrageous numbers this season.

MOST GOALS + ASSISTS IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE (2021-22)
Player Team Games Goals Assists Goals + Assists
Mohamed Salah Liverpool 20 16 9 25
Jarrod Bowen West Ham 23 6 9 15
Michael Antonio West Ham 22 8 6 14
Emmanuel Dennis Watford 19 8 5 13
Mason Mount Chelsea 21 7 6 13

Let’s not forget that Klopp’s men are facing the Foxes, who have the sixth-worst defensive record in the Premier League. Salah will almost certainly add a goal involvement to his tally at Anfield.

Jarrod Bowen, West Ham United (£6.9m)

As the table above details, only Salah has registered more EPL goal involvements than Bowen this season. The West Ham winger has bagged six goals and nine assists in 23 Premier League appearances.

The 25-year-old has racked up three goals and four assists across his last six EPL matches, achieving a hat-trick of assists against Watford in December. Who do the Hammers play in Gameweek 24? Yep, you guessed it – Watford.

The Hornets have failed to win any of their previous eight Premier League games, suffering seven defeats in the process. They also have one of the weakest backlines in the EPL, meaning Bowen should enjoy even more success against them.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool (£8.5m)

Only Salah has picked up more FPL points than Trent Alexander-Arnold this season. The Liverpool right-back has chalked up two goals and ten assists in 20 Premier League appearances, as well as multiple clean sheets.

Not only does Alexander-Arnold lead the league for assists, but he also finds himself atop the key passes, crosses, and shot-creating actions charts. Pretty impressive for a so-called “defender,” right?

As we know, the Reds face the Foxes at Anfield in Gameweek 24. I’m confident that TAA will pick up FPL points at both ends of the pitch against struggling Leicester.

Top FPL Differentials for Gameweek 24

If you want to get the better of your friends in your mini leagues, differentials are crucial. Ultimately, picking players with low ownership percentages can give you a significant edge over your rivals.

In this section, I examine three of the best differentials for FPL Gameweek 24.

Jose Sa, Wolverhampton Wanderers (£5.2m)

No goalkeeper has racked up more Fantasy Premier League points than Jose Sa this season. Still, for whatever reason, the Wolves shot-stopper is owned by just 7.5% of FPL managers.

Only three ‘keepers – Ederson (Man City), Alisson (Liverpool), and Aaron Ramsdale (Arsenal) – have kept more EPL clean sheets this term. It is also worth noting that Sa boasts the best save percentage (84.4%) in the Premier League.

BEST SAVE PERCENTAGES IN THE EPL (2021-22)
Player Team Save Percentage
Jose Sa Wolverhampton Wanderers 84.8%
Edouard Mendy Chelsea 81.0%
Aaron Ramsdale Arsenal 80.9%

Wolves face Arsenal next, and the Gunners are the lowest scorers in the top six. That means Sa could add to his impressive clean sheet tally in Gameweek 24.

Andrew Robertson, Liverpool (£7.1m)

While Alexander-Arnold is owned by a whopping 46.9% of FPL managers, Liverpool’s other full-back, Andrew Robertson, has an ownership percentage of just 4.5%.

Granted, Robertson started the season slowly. But he started to rediscover his best form before the break. The Scotland captain has recorded seven assists in his last eight EPL appearances, along with a goal against Tottenham.

Having bagged a couple of assists in the Reds’ 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace last time out, Robertson looks set to enjoy more success when struggling Brentford visits Anfield.

Lucas Digne, Aston Villa (£5.1m)

In an Everton jersey, Lucas Digne failed to register an attacking return in 13 Premier League matches during the first half of the season. However, he joined Aston Villa in January and achieved both an assist and clean sheet on his first start for his new club.

Owned by only 7.3% of Fantasy EPL managers, Digne could prove to be a shrewd pick going forward. With Matt Target moving to Newcastle during the transfer window, Digne is now Steven Gerrard’s first-choice left-back.

The Frenchman has the potential to pick up plenty of FPL points at both ends of the pitch. Gerrard likes his full-backs to join the attack, but Villa remains defensively solid.

FPL Gameweek 24 Player Rankings

Who are the best forwards for FPL Gamweek 24? What about the top FPL midfielders? Don’t worry, I have got you covered! Below, I share my Fantasy Premier League player rankings for Gameweek 24.

Top FPL Goalkeepers for Gameweek 24

  • Ederson, Manchester City (£6.1m)
  • Alisson, Liverpool (£6.0m)
  • Jose Sa, Wolverhampton Wanderers (£5.2m)
  • Emi Martinez, Aston Villa (£5.5m)
  • Hugo Lloris, Tottenham Hotspur (£5.4m)

You probably won’t be surprised to learn that Ederson and Alisson are my top FPL goalkeeper picks for Gameweek 24. Not only do they anchor two of the toughest backlines in the EPL, but they also have favorable fixtures on the horizon.

I have already explained why Sa is one of the best goalkeepers – and differentials – for FPL Gameweek 24. I also recommend considering Aston Villa’s Emi Martinez and Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris if you’re looking for clean sheet points.

Best FPL Defenders for Gameweek 24

  • Trent Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool (£8.5m)
  • Joao Cancelo, Manchester City (£7.1m)
  • Andrew Robertson, Liverpool (£7.1m)
  • Lucas Digne, Aston Villa (£5.1m)
  • Ruben Dias, Manchester City (£6.3m)

Having already focused on TAA, Robertson, and Digne, I want to take a closer look at Man City duo Joao Cancelo and Ruben Dias in this section.

Cancelo sits third on the overall FPL points leaderboard, having accumulated 134 points this season. The versatile Portuguese has chipped in with a goal and five assists for Guardiola’s side, helping his team to keep multiple clean sheets along the way.

As for Dias, he has contributed two goals and two assists from defense – cementing his status as one of the best center-backs in the Premier League.

FPL Gameweek 24 Best Midfielders

  • Kevin De Bruyne, Manchester City (£12.2m)
  • Mohamed Salah, Liverpool (£12.7m)
  • Jarrod Bowen, West Ham United (£6.9m)
  • Diogo Jota, Liverpool (£8.4m)
  • Phil Foden, Manchester City (£8.0m)

Alongside De Bruyne, Salah, and Bowen, I have included Diogo Jota and Phil Foden on my list of the best FPL midfielders for Gameweek 24. Why? Because their potential for attacking returns is too attractive to ignore.

With ten EPL goals to his name, Jota finds himself second in the Golden Boot race. On the flip side, Foden has bagged seven goals and six assists in 22 games across all competitions this season – including five goals and three assists in the Premier League.

Top Forwards for FPL Gameweek 24

  • Harry Kane, Tottenham Hotspur (£12.3m)
  • Michail Antonio, West Ham United (£7.9m)
  • Ollie Watkins, Aston Villa (£7.7m)
  • Cristiano Ronaldo, Manchester United (£12.5m)
  • Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Everton (£7.9m)

I view Harry Kane as the best forward for FPL Gameweek 24. The Tottenham striker has netted four goals in his past six EPL matches and faces a leaky Southampton defense this week.

I’m also backing West Ham’s Michail Antonio to rediscover his early-season form against Watford. The Jamaica international has racked up eight goals and six assists in the Premier League this term, dishing up four returns across the previous six rounds.

Ollie Watkins, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin complete my top five. I expect Aston Villa, Man Utd, and Everton to score against their respective opponents in Gamweek 24.

More FPL Gameweek 24 Advice

The Gameweek 24 transfer deadline is 18:15 (GMT) on Tuesday, February 8. With that in mind, make sure you finalize your FPL team a couple of hours before Newcastle vs. Everton and West Ham vs. Watford kick off.

Remember – Chelsea and Brighton are not participating in Gameweek 24, as the Blues are away at the Club World Cup. It is also worth noting that Man Utd and Brighton double up in Gameweek 25, so you might want to start preparing for that.
