Evil Genuises vs. FURIA Odds

Total Maps Played
Evil Geniuses are the favorites here, but FURIA will feel they have the resources to come out on top. It might be a closer affair than the odds suggest, so let’s take a look at how the teams have been faring and see where the best betting value lies.
Evil Genuises Current Form
After reaching the number one spot in the rankings in October 2019, the team has taken a bit of a slump and now finds itself in 7th position. Despite the fall, however, they remain one of the most tactically-astute organizations and a handful for any team.
The team came into the ESL Pro League on the back of two losses against Team Liquid and 100 Thieves. They had a chance to redeem themselves against the Thieves in their Pro League opening fixture, but once again fell 2:1.
The disappointing start was then corrected with a blowout win versus Swole Patrol two days ago.
Led by one of the most impactful all-around players Brehze, the team will now be seeking to overcome an old foe and finally kickstart a good run that will see them climb the rankings again.
FURIA Current Form
The Brazilians have been in great form as of late and have now moved to 11th in the overall rankings.
After losing the grand final of the 2020 DreamHack Open to Gen.G, the team has improved immensely and have so far posted a flawless record. Triumph and Envy were easily brushed aside at the beginning of March and this was followed up with two hugely impressive wins to start off the ESL Pro League.
The 6th seed in the rankings Team Liquid was defeated first and FURIA then managed to overcome their compatriots and one of the most experienced teams on the scene MIBR.
The past achievements of Evil Genuises make them the favorite here, but yuurih and his teammates will feel they have every chance of continuing their incredible run.
Evil Genuises vs. FURIA Pick
One of the reasons why the Geniuses are the heavy favorite here is their head-to-head record with FURIA.
In the past three months, the teams have met 6 times and Evil Geniuses have won 11 rounds against just 2 for the Brazilians. However, their last meeting was way back in October 2019 when the Americans were flying and things have changed a lot since then.
FURIA has gained a lot of ground and their back-to-back wins against Team Liquid and MIBR show that they are truly ready to push for an elite spot in the rankings.
The odds for an outright win for the Brazilians are great, but I think that they won’t be in their comfort zone with the highly-tactical approach of the Geniuses. However, I do feel that it will still be a close matchup especially if maps like Mirage and Overpass are on the cards.
Both teams winning a round is not an unreasonable bet at all and the odds still present great value, so that would be my final pick here.
