Best Esports Bets for Wednesday, May 20th, 2020

It’s time for another day that will be full of esports action. There are plenty of events scheduled for Wednesday, May 20th and my goal is to find the best esports bets out there. My focus falls on the biggest CS:GO and Dota 2 events.

All of my esports betting tips for today come with suggested prices and short reasoning, so you can understand the thought process behind each pick.

Astralis vs. North Over 2.5

  • Game: CS:GO
  • Tournament: DreamHack Masters 2020, EU
  • Starting time: 8:30 am Pacific Time
  • Odds: +128
  • Where to bet: SportsBetting.ag

North has settled well into the tournament and bagged a huge win against G2. The stand-in player Kristou had a decent outing and the rest of the team certainly stepped up in the absence of their superstar Kjaerbye.

The next opponent Astralis struggled against underdogs Heroic and needed a tiebreak to settle the first round. Even the favorite’s own pick was tough and went all the way to 30 rounds. Slow starts in tournaments like the DreamHack Masters are typical for the Danes, so we might expect more bumps on the road.

There will be no pressure on North, so the underdog can enjoy this one and I think we might see three maps today. The price of +128 certainly is excellent and one of the best esports bets on Wednesday.

Vikin.gg (+1.5) vs. OG Seed

  • Game: Dota 2
  • Tournament: Cyber Cup
  • Starting time: 8:00 am Pacific Time
  • Odds: -149
  • Where to bet: BetOnline

The final of the Cyber Cup Spring Series, EU is here and we have OG Seed and Vikin.gg left. The second unit of OG sent the same opponent to the losers’ bracket on Wednesday, but the Romanians have bounced back in style since.

They have beaten Nemiga, Unique, and Aggressive Mode to reach the last match, so they will have a lot of momentum. I believe this clash might be different than the last one because Vikin.gg have looked much better since.

I’m pretty sure that the team can win two games or more, so going for the +1.5 handicap priced at -149 looks like a good addition to my esports betting tips for today.

Alliance (-1.5) vs. HellRaisers

  • Game: Dota 2
  • Tournament: OGA PIT
  • Starting time: 5:00 am Pacific Time
  • Odds: +102
  • Where to bet: 10Bet

I really like one of the OGA PIT matches and I felt obliged to include it in my selection of esports picks for today. Alliance had an excellent start in the competition that was stopped by OG on Tuesday. The team will be eager to bounce back immediately and the next clash represents a good opportunity for that.

HellRaisers lost all three matches so far and failed to win even a single game. The squad was left behind after the huge Dota 2 changes recently and will obviously need some time to catch up. Until that happens, HR is easy prey for the likes of Alliance and the price of +102 for the favorite to cover the -1.5 handicap looks excellent.

  • Team Secret vs. NiP over 2.5; +166
  • FURIA (-1.5) vs. MIBR; +132
  • S-Gaming to beat LDLC; -139

The odds I’ve used for all of my esports betting tips for today might have moved by the time you got to this post, so make sure to take full advantage of that by exploring some of the top betting sites for higher prices than the ones I recommend. Here are the best sites to check.

With that out of the way, let’s return to the best esports bets for Wednesday. Some of you might be surprised by my pick for the match between Team Secret and NiP in the OGA PIT. After all, I’ve been praising Secret for the past week or so, and now I’m going against them, sort of.

And yet, NiP has three consecutive victories in the competition and the favorite hasn’t looked completely invincible in the past couple of days. Alliance won a game and Liquid should’ve done the same. That’s why I’m going for over 2.5 here for the fantastic price of +166.

Next in line is the all-Brazilian clash in the DreamHack Masters. FURIA was bested by Gen.G in the ESL One: Road to Rio Grand Final, but left excellent impressions as a whole. The team is aggressive and confident right now which should help in the fresh competition.

If you add the good streak against MIBR recently, I believe that FURIA can win both maps today and dominate the opposition. The price of +132 for such an outcome is too good to miss, so I’m going for it.

The last of my esports betting predictions for today is the CS:GO match between S-Gaming and LDLC from the Hellcase Cup group stage. Both sides won one and lost one so far, so the next clash will determine who faces Endpoint for a place in the playoffs.

I believe that S-Gaming showed more up to this point and looked at least solid on every map played, while LDLC had some problems on the likes of Train and Vertigo. The price of -139 is good enough for me, so I’m going with S-Gaming here.

Before I finish, a couple of recommendations. If you want extended esports betting previews, make sure to check out the following posts.
