Esports Betting Tips for May 5, 2020

The ESL Road to Rio returns on Tuesday with a couple of matches in Europe and CIS. We also have more action from the Pushka League Division 1. These competitions are the main focus of my esports betting tips for today, but I cover others too.

My best esports bets for Tuesday include CS:GO, Dota 2, and LoL tournaments of the highest leverl. I’ve included my thoughts and recommended odds for each pick too.

NiP (-1.5) vs. Team Heretics

  • Game: CS:GO
  • Tournament: ESL One Road to Rio, Europe
  • Starting time: 1 pm Pacific Time
  • Odds: +169
  • Where to bet: BetOnline

Let’s begin with one of the most important ESL One Road to Rio matches of the day. Both NiP and Team Heretics have a chance to progress to the next stage, but their trajectory has been different.

Ninjas in Pyjamas opened the tournament with a defeat and then won four on the trot which should be enough for a spot in the playoffs, whatever happens in the remaining rounds. Team Heretics had the opposite experience, starting strongly and fading later on.

The squad was beaten twice in a row at the end of last week and is now under danger of dropping out of the top 4. I think this is inevitable and the confident NiP will have too much for Heretics on Tuesday.

The price of a clean win for the favorite is +169 which is more than enough to include this pick to my esports betting tips for today.

Dignitas vs. Astralis Over 2.5

  • Game: CS:GO
  • Tournament: ESL One Road to Rio, Europe
  • Starting time: 1 pm Pacific Time
  • Odds: +180
  • Where to bet:

The next of my esports betting picks for Monday might surprise many people. Astralis is leading Group A of the ESL One Road to Rio and looks set for a place in the next stage, while Dignitas is in the last position and can’t progress further.

And yet, the veterans have been competitive in every game with the exception of the clash against Ninjas in Pyjamas. They beat Fnatic in an epic encounter and put a lot of pressure on the likes of ENCE, Heretics, and Vitality.

I expect more of the same today against Astralis and I won’t be shocked to see a third map as the decider. The favorite should win this one but the price of +180 for over 2.5 maps is the value bet here.

FlyToMoon (-1.5) vs. B8

  • Game: Dota 2
  • Tournament: Pushka League Division 1
  • Starting time: 1 pm Pacific Time
  • Odds: -193
  • Where to bet: 10bet

This is the last round of the Pushka League group stage for both sides. B8 is firmly at the bottom and will be playing in Division 2, no matter what. The team has failed to win a single game so far, mostly because of the poor execution.

That will be a huge problem against FlyToMoon who still have hopes for the next stage. The team started the competition with two painful defeats but bounced back with two victories in a row. Another one today could be enough for a spot in the playoffs, so I expect the best from the squad.

The price of -193 for a clean sweep in favor of FlyToMoon is excellent and represents one of the best esports bets on Monday, in my opinion.

Additional Esports Betting Tips for Tuesday, May 5th

  • Prodigy to beast; +130
  • LDLC vs. BT Excel over 2.5; -102
  • FaZe Clan vs. GODSENT over 2.5; +138

I have three more esports picks for today and I explain the logic behind each below. Before I get there, don’t forget to scan the bookmakers for better prices throughout the day and get the best value possible. Here are a couple of trusted esports betting sites that I use.

Let’s return to my esports betting tips for today. I have another match from the Pushka League and I’m sure that most Dota 2 fans will be watching this one. VP.Prodigy has been excellent in the tournament and faces that has struggled slightly after the latest patch.

It should be a close match but VPP’s better form recently and the price of +130 give me good reasons to go for the underdog here.

Next in line is the only LoL match that found a place in my best esports bets today. Both LDLC and BT Excel battled hard to reach the playoffs of the European Masters Spring 2020 and I struggle to separate them. I think this will be an epic encounter that won’t be decided in two games, so get -102 for over 2.5 is more than enough for me.

And the last pick today is for the clash between FaZe Clan and GODSENT in Group B of the ESL One Road to Rio, EU. You don’t need me to tell that FaZe is the favorite here but I believe we might see a close battle.

GODSENT looked really strong on a couple of maps, so they should be able to hold their map pick and force a third one. That’s why the +138 available for over 2.5 looks great to me.
