Best Esports Bets for Saturday, May 2, 2020

The weekend is here and the esports action continues with various tournaments. The main focus of my best esports for today is ESL One Road to Rio, the biggest CS:GO competition that’s active. That’s not all, though, as I also include matches in Dota 2 and League of Legends.

All of my esports betting tips for Saturday come with recommended odds and my reasons, so you can understand the logic behind each selection.

Fnatic (-1.5) vs Vitality

  • Game: CS:GO
  • Tournament: ESL One Road to Rio: EU
  • Starting time: 9:30 am Pacific Time
  • Odds: +153
  • Where to bet: BetOnline

Both teams are in a need of a victory to progress to the next round of the ESL One Road to Rio. Based on their head-to-head record, I think that Fnatic is the logical choice here. The team often prevails over Vitality in crucial matches and this one certainly qualifies as such.

The favorite should be able to close this one and I believe that a clean sweep is on the cards too. Only ZywOo has been playing consistently so far for Vitality which will be costly against Fnatic. The price of +153 for -1.5 is the best way to go here, in my opinion.

Alliance vs. NiP Over 2.5

  • Game: Dota 2
  • Tournament: Pushka League, D1
  • Starting time: 10 am Pacific Time
  • Odds: -103
  • Where to bet:

Both Alliance and Ninjas in Pyjamas have been really strong in the Pushka League Division 1 and find themselves in the top 3 of the standings. A win today could be enough to guarantee a place in the playoffs, so the stakes are high in this match.

NiP is yet to lose, while Alliance started with a defeat but has won three on the trot since. Many of the clashes of both sides went the distance, so I believe that going after the over 2.5 available for -103 is among the best esports bets for today.

Evil Geniuses (-1.5) vs. Gen.G

  • Game: CS:GO
  • Tournament: ESL One Road to Rio, NA
  • Starting time: 1 am Pacific Time
  • Odds: +150
  • Where to bet: 10bet

The main reasoning behind the next of my esports betting tips is related to the trajectory of both sides so far in the ESL One Road to Rio. Gen.G started with a bang and had its strongest match in the first round against 100 Thieves.

The team registered two more defeats that were much closer and lost against Cloud9 in the fourth round. The performance on the last two maps was far from what Gen.G displayed early in the tournament and that doesn’t look good considering the next opponent.

Evil Geniuses had a slow start but found some of their mojo back and looked really strong against Triumph. I believe that the momentum will EG find another victory and I can’t resist the price of +150 for the favorite to cover the handicap.

Additional Esports Betting Tips for Saturday, May 2nd

  • KaBuM! Esports to beat Vivo Keyd; +178
  • Cloud9 vs. 100 Thieves over 2.5; +102
  • Complexity to beat NiP; +156

The reasoning for all of the above is available below, just a quick reminder before that. The odds are constantly moving throughout the day, so make sure to check the leading bookmakers in the pursuit of the highest prices possible if you intend to follow my best esports bets for today.

I’ve included one LoL match to my esports betting picks today and it might surprise some people. KaBuM! Esports had a ridiculous run of six consecutive victories to reach the playoffs of CBLOL Split and one of them was against the favorite Vivo Keyd.

The guys will be feeling invincible right now, so I believe they have a realistic chance of winning today again and the price of +178 is great.

Next in line is the match between Cloud9 and 100 Thieves. Both sides have a record of three wins and one defeat. The winner today could finish first in the group, while the loser is at risk of elimination. I expect a back and forth battle that won’t be decided after two maps.

And finally, I have another underdog for you. Complexity has been below-par so far in the ESL Road to Rio, but NiP is a team that has shown inconsistencies way too often. I won’t be surprised to see more of the same and the price of +156 for the underdog is excellent.

Here’s a list of all the matches we cover with individual previews today, for those of you who are interested in more detailed esports betting tips.
