Best Esports Bets May 16, 2020

We have a lot of esports betting opportunities this Saturday as some of the top tournaments in CS:GO, Dota 2, and League of Legends continue today.

This esports betting tips post includes a look at the events that carry the best betting value out there.

Let’s kick things off and check which are my top esports picks for May 16th.

FlyToMoon (-1.5) vs. Team Spirit

  • Game: Dota 2
  • Tournament: Dota 2 Epic Prime League
  • Starting time: 5:00 AM Pacific Time
  • Odds: +114
  • Where to bet: SportsBetting.ag

FlyToMoon is on a great run right now after kicking off the OGA PIT 2020 event with two consecutive victories.

The team’s draft tactics are far superior than those of their opponent and this should be a comfortable win for the favorites here.

The -1.5 handicap gives you the chance to take advantage of the great +114 odds that BetOnline provides and you would be wise to consider placing a wager on them.

Team Secret (-1.5) vs. Alliance

  • Game: Dota 2
  • Tournament: Dota 2 GWB 2020
  • Starting time: 12:00 AM Pacific Time
  • Odds: -172
  • Where to bet: 10Bet

I continue my esports betting tips for Saturday with the Dota 2 bout between Team Secret and Alliance.

Secret look to be unstoppable right now and their dominant win against NiP yesterday proved it once again.

The thing to note about this tournament is the fact that there isn’t a lower bracket so the favorites are bound to be focused right from the start.

This should give Team Secret ample incentive to get the job done quickly which should spell big trouble for their opponents today.

A 2:0 victory sounds like the most logical scenario and 10Bet’s offer is terrific given the circumstances.

However, if you need more convincing, you can also check our complete Team Secret vs. Alliance betting preview.

FaZe vs. G2 Over 2.5

  • Game: CS:GO
  • Tournament: ESL One Road to Rio, EU
  • Starting time: 11:00 AM Pacific Time
  • Odds: -105
  • Where to bet: BetOnline

It’s hard to pick an outright winner here, that’s why I’m going with the Over 2.5 market.

FaZe were relentless in the group phase of the tournament and carried their good form into the playoffs, however, top dogs Astralis proved to be their stumbling block once again.

Despite that, the leadership of captain NiKo and the skills of broky and coldzera are enough for FaZe to put up a challenge against anyone and their past records against G2 have been positive overall.

The Frenchmen will not simply lie down, though. They have done well to reach this stage and the win against Vitality will give them even more confidence.

The key lies in KennyS and huNter-‘s form and captain nexa will be hoping his most trusted generals will come up with the goods.

Given how G2 has a huge advantage on both Vertigo and Inferno, they should be able to take a map even if FaZe’s superior quality proves to be decisive once again.

More information on this crunch CS:GO tie is available at our FaZe vs. G2 betting preview, so make sure you check it out.

More Esports Betting Tips for Saturday, May 16th

  • Santos e-Sports (-1.5) vs. Team oNe; -152
  • GODSENT to beat North; -172

I provide you with my reasoning on these picks below but before we get to that, I just want to stress how important it is to explore multiple sportsbooks and only choose the ones that excel in providing competitive odds and good bonuses.

You shouldn’t settle for less when wagering your money on esports and if you’re struggling to find a bookmaker that fits your needs, you can check the list of our recommended esports betting sites below:

Time to wrap up my top esports bets post by analyzing why the above two picks make sense.

Santos has dominated the competition since the group stage of the LoL BRCC event. They are far better in both drafting and execution than the rest of the field and already beat the same opponent in the groups with a 2:1 scoreline.

Bear in mind that the final is played out in a best-of-five format, so despite backing the favorite here to clinch it, this leaves enough leeway for Team oNe to win one round.

On the CS:GO scene, GODSENT will take on North in a consolidation game that will determine which team will be 7th in the final standings of the ESL One European qualifiers.

North started the tournament positively but have fallen off the rails since coach Jumpy got to stand in for top marksman Kjaerbye.

This will be the case once again and I back GODSENT to get the job done in this latest Scandinavian derby.
