Esports Betting Tips for Friday, May 29th – Today’s Picks and Predictions for CS:GO and Dota 2

Best Esports Bets May 29th, 2020

If tournaments like the ESL One Birmingham and DreamHack Masters weren’t enough for you, the CS:GO edition of Gamers Without Borders starts today that. That’s plenty of action in that game and Dota 2 which also means loads of opportunities to make some money.

Helping those of you who intend to place wagers is the main goal of my esports betting tips for today. I have selected what I believe to be the best esports bets available here and each pick includes my reasons and recommended odds.

Natus Vincere (-1.5) vs. NiP

  • Game: CS:GO
  • Tournament: DreamHack Masters 2020, EU
  • Starting time: 8:30 am Pacific Time
  • Odds: +125
  • Where to bet: Betway

Both teams have been far from perfect in the DreamHack Masters so far, but Natus Vincere did register one victory over Vitality and s1mple has been excellent. The Ukrainian superstar is hitting his top form, so he won’t need that much from the rest of the squad.

As for NiP, the side was demolished by Vitality and now is about to face a very inconvenient opponent. It has been more than a year since Ninjas in Pyjamas won a map versus Na’Vi and I won’t be shocked if this streak continues.

It must be mentioned that NiP’s captain Lekr0 has been benched in a desperate attempt to change something. I’m not sure if will change something, so I believe that the price of +125 for Natus Vincere to cover the -1.5 map advantage looks like one of the best esports bets on Friday.

Alliance to Beat FlyToMoon

  • Game: Dota 2
  • Tournament: ESL One Birmingham, EU and CIS
  • Starting time: 10:00 am Pacific Time
  • Odds: -175
  • Where to bet: SportsBetting.ag

This match is of crucial importance for both sides that have a similar record, having won and lost twice so far in the ESL One Birmingham. The expectations are for a tight battle today and I can certainly see why.

And yet, I think that the momentum is with Alliance. The squad started with two defeats but has bounced back with two clean sweeps since and looked strong in the process. The mistakes from the opening matches are now gone and I think the team might be capable of a deep run in the competition.

FlyToMoon is certainly a tricky opponent that has shown a lot of quality up to this point, but the consistency in terms of execution has been lacking. That’s why I think Alliance should be able to win today and the price of -175 is decent enough.

Fnatic vs. OG Over 2.5

  • Game: CS:GO
  • Tournament: Gamers Without Borders
  • Starting time: 12:00 pm Pacific Time
  • Odds: +102
  • Where to bet: BetOnline

I already mentioned that Gamers Without Borders starts today and the late match from the tournament today is between Fnatic and OG. You would normally expect from the Swedes to win this one, but they have been far from their best recently.

The shaky performance in the ESL One Road to Rio was followed by another disappointment in the DreamHack Masters. That opens the door for OG and I think we will see a rather tight clash on Friday.

I’m not confident in either team, so I decided to go for over 2.5 maps for my esports betting tips for today. The price you can find is just above the +100 and that’s more than enough for me.

Additional Esports Betting Tips for Friday, May 29th

  • Quincy Crew (-1.5) vs. Thunder Predator; -110
  • Cyber Legacy to beat OG; +280
  • G2 vs. FaZe Clan over 2.5; +102

I share my reasoning behind the last three esports betting picks for today below. Before we get there, let me just remind you to keep checking the odds, so you can get the highest prices available. The following recommended betting sites are among the best for that purpose.

Let’s get back to the best esports bets today with another Dota 2 match, this time from the ESL One Birmingham in NA and SA. Quincy Crew’s start in the competition has been solid and the team now faces Thunder Predator, one of the underdogs.

I expect a comfortable victory for the favorite in this match and the price of -110 for QC to finish it without losing a game is more than enough for me to back them.

I also have a sleeper prepared for you. Cyber Legacy has been one of the pleasant surprises of the ESL One Birmingham EU and CIS, thanks to victories against Alliance, NiP, and Winstrike. Winning against the struggling OG won’t be that big of a shock, in my opinion, and the odds of +280 are way too high and most definitely among the best esports bets today.

And finally, I believe we’re in for a treat in the GWB match between G2 and FaZe Clan. Both sides have been strong lately and I don’t think we will see a winner in two. The maps here are won after 12 rounds too which should make it easier to claim your own pick and that’s why I’m going for over 2.5.
