Energetik-BGU vs. Dynamo Brest Betting Preview – Belarusian Premier League, May 16

Energetik-BGU looks to continue its excellent season so far as it welcomes last year’s champions, Dynamo Brest, to the RCOR-BGU Stadium in Minsk.
The Students are exceeding all expectations so far and currently sit just one point off the top of the Belarusian Premier League with eight games played. This Energetik-BGU vs. Dynamo Brest prediction provides the details of my thoughts on this match.
Energetik-BGU vs. Dynamo Brest Odds
These are some very interesting prices from BetOnline. Dynamo Brest’s recent resurgence has obviously informed its probably justifiable favorite tag, but the odds for an Energetik-BGU win, or even a draw, look very attractive, too. The champions have hardly been all-conquering this season, so I’m not sure a win here is as straightforward as the odds suggest.
Match Preview
Energetik-BGU got its season back on track with the narrow victory over Smolevichi the week before, but the win against the then league leaders, Slutsk, last week proved that the three consecutive victories at the beginning of the season were no fluke.
In a tempestuous game, Energetik-BGU just about kept its collective head to beat Slutsk 2-1 on its own ground, thanks to two penalties from Jaserbek Yaxshiboev. The Uzbek striker is now the top goal scorer in the Belarusian Premier League.
Energetik-BGU did benefit from Slutsk being reduced to ten men with 20 minutes still to play, but it was a very welcome three points for the Minsk club.
That fighting spirit should worry a Dynamo Brest side that has not hit the heights of last year and would do well not to get too carried away with back-to-back victories that have seen the club climb the table after a poor start to the season. A narrow win over Dinamo Minsk followed the thrashing of Belshina the week before.
But those two teams are hardly setting the Belarusian Premier League alight this season, so the points should be considered as expected rather than won. There are still too many mistakes and goals conceded for Dynamo Brest to be thought of as a viable contender. Its resurgence has been nowhere near as impressive as BATE’s, and this game could serve as another wake-up call.
Energetik-BGU vs. Dynamo Brest Prediction and Pick
-
Energetik-BGU to Win+315
This is possibly a more risky bet considering the caliber of the two sides. But I’ve not thought that Dynamo Brest has looked very good this season, even in the last two games, and the home team has already shown that it has the resolve to grind out results this season. The odds for a draw are equally as good, but the increased potential returns for an Energetik-BGU win here have swayed my decision.
