EDward Gaming vs. Invictus Gaming Odds, Prediction, and Pick for April 17th – LPL Spring 2020
We’re deep into Week 7 of the spring split in the League of Legends Pro League and the playoff race is hotting up. There are several interesting ties today but here I focus on the game between Invictus and EDWard Gaming.
Can the underdogs serve up a surprise to the current league leaders? This Edward Gaming vs. Invictus Gaming betting preview tries to answer that by looking at the betting odds and analyzing both teams’ recent form.
There is a free betting pick for you in the end, alongside my prediction, so make sure you don’t miss out on that.
EDward Gaming vs. Invictus Gaming Odds
Let’s kick things off with the main betting markets. The odds below are courtesy of BetOnline.
It’s hardly a surprise that Invictus is the favorite. It has been their tournament so far. Let’s see exactly how both organizations have been faring in the LPL 2020 and try to figure out where the betting value is.
EDward Gaming Analysis
The team is definitely in the playoff picture and is currently sitting on a 9-5 record which is good enough for 6th place at the moment.
After losing to big favorites FunPlus Phoenix, the team showed no lack of confidence at the start of Week 7 and quickly dispatched Oh My God.
These are exactly the ties that Edward Gaming needs to win and they are doing a decent job of it till now. The loss against Rogue Warriors is the only recent hiccup and there was also a brilliant performance against 4th-placed JD Gaming in there.
Today presents a big challenge for the organization but they have every reason to believe they can make it hard for Invictus.
Invictus Gaming Analysis
The team has been rampant in the league so far and has established itself as the favorite to clinch top spot. Not everything is settled though as FunPlus Phoenix is lurking close so Invictus should keep their focus.
Their last two performances weren’t the best as they lost a round to both Royal Never Give Up and Bilibili Gaming. Those still ended up being wins but the team was way more dominant at the start.
In any case, they still remain the biggest threat in the group with a 12-2 record and their 2:0 loss against surprise package eStar looks to be long forgotten.
EDward Gaming vs. Invictus Gaming Prediction and Pick
Invictus is the definite favorites here and they have the resources to end this quickly. What gives me pause is the fact that they have taken the foot off the gas pedal recently and are allowing lower-ranked teams to hurt them.
EDward is a tough competitor and I feel they will be able to take advantage of their opponents’ recent wobbles. The odds for backing a surprise are understandably very high and I did flirt with the possibility but am more inclined to back a three-map game here.
Invictus dropped a round in their last two games against much weaker teams and the odds of -106 are a great price for a repeat of that scenario.
