Dynamo Brest vs. Isloch Odds, Prediction, and Pick – Belarusian Premier League, 4/12

These two met in the Belarusian Cup recently, with Dynamo Brest coming out on top on penalties after neither side could find the net over two legs of the tie. That doesn’t bode well for this game on round four of the Belarusian Premier League.

Dynamo is the reigning champion, of course, but has not started in the most convincing way, and it will see this home game as a chance to get the league campaign started.

I’ll take you through my thoughts on this match in this Dynamo Brest vs. Isloch betting preview.

Dynamo Brest may have already lost one of its home games this season, but the BetOnline sportsbook has confidence in last year’s surprise title winners coming through here. This is actually Isloch’s first game on the road this season, so it could be time to see whether its good start is purely down to having home advantage.

Dynamo Brest shocked BATE and the rest of the Belarusian Premier League last year when it came through and won the league by five points, having lost just one game all season. The home defeat to Slavia Mozyr last week means that total has already been reached, but the league does look to be a little more open this year.

Manager Sergey Kovalchuk needs to be getting more out of his strikers soon to really show that his side could possibly emulate BATE and win back-to-back titles. A repeat of the 5-1 thrashing it handed Isloch in this fixture last year would be ideal.

To be fair, Isloch’s defense was fairly sound last year, and that heavy loss to Dynamo was a bit of a one-off. This season looks to be just as tight at the back for Vitali Zhukovski’s team, with only Slutsk getting the better of it last weekend.

But the caliber of teams Isloch has played so far is not that high. Neman and Smolevichi were beaten, but these are clubs that Isloch would be expected to win against — especially if it was looking to improve on its fifth-place finish from last year. A repeat of the collapse against Slutsk has to be avoided, too.

It does feel as though Isloch’s position in the league table has exaggerated its abilities. The games still have to be won, but a trip to the OSK Brestsky to take on Dynamo Brest is definitely a sterner test of whether Isloch has the players to push for a top-three finish. I don’t think it has and think we could see a first big win of the campaign for Dynamo here.
