Although league titles have been scarce in recent years, Dinamo Minsk is one of the biggest clubs in Belarus and has looked to compete, at least, with the dominance of BATE. But this season has not started well, and two defeats see the club near the bottom of the table.

Torpedo has begun its campaign in a far more positive fashion. The side from Zhodino may have only scored two goals, but that has been enough to bring in six points and make it one of just four teams with a 100% record. Considering the starts both these two clubs have made to the new season, BetOnline’s price for a Torpedo victory looks fairly enticing. The convincing wins of last season also suggest the visitors have the upper hand in this fixture at the moment.

After finishing in the top three seven seasons running, last year’s fourth place was a step down for Dinamo, and this campaign has started in horrible fashion for Sergei Gurenko’s team. The last game against FC Minsk was a disaster from the opening whistle, and it is only thanks to two late goals that the scoreline was in any way respectable.

New signing Ivan Bakhar got off the mark in that last game, at least, against his former club, and it may be the young international who is relied on to push Dinamo forward as the season progresses.

Torpedo has never really pushed for honors in Belarus but did win the cup a couple of seasons ago and will feel as though it is a permanent member of the top flight now. Manager Yuri Puntas will know that the two wins from the opening fixtures of this campaign are a great springboard to really compete this year.

The confidence will all be the visitors’ here as the Torpedo defense has been on top form so far this year. Zhodino’s strikers will need to step up at some point if there is to be a concerted drive for the European places, but a solid, if unremarkable, performance could be on the cards here.

If the Torpedo defense can keep to the game plan, then a point is the most likely outcome here. Dinamo will be pushing hard to pick up its first points of the season but could come up against a brick wall from a team more than happy to go home with a point.
