Things are getting desperate now for Smolevichi as we enter the final third of the season and the club remains firmly in the relegation zone.
Dinamo Minsk has been going in other direction recently but still has a lot to do before it can break into the top three.

Odds for Dinamo Minsk vs. Smolevichi
Dinamo Minsk to Win-588
Smolevichi to Win+1082
A few weeks ago, I might have thought that these types of odds for a Smolevichi win would be just plain cruel. But after some less-than-stellar performances culminating in a 3-0 home defeat to bottom-of-the-table Belshina last weekend, I think I have to agree with MyBookie’s reading of the game.
Dinamo Minsk vs. Smolevichi Preview
After just two defeats in ten games, it was looking as though Leonid Kuchuk’s no-frills approach to soccer management was just about working, as Dinamo Minsk climbed the table. A win against an admittedly very good Neman Grodno side last weekend would have put it just one point behind the top three. But the capital city club just couldn’t manage the win.
Now it looks more likely that Dinamo will be one of the clubs chasing the leading lights in the Belarusian Premier League, ruing a poor start to the season that left it with a mountain to climb to compete. The good news, however, is that a home win is all but guaranteed on Friday.
That’s because Smolevichi’s mini-revival is over after another defeat at the weekend made it three in a row for the club promoted at the end of last season. Losing to Vitebsk and Shakhtyor was not too bad (even with the thrashing that the league leaders handed out), but losing to Belshina at home puts Smolevichi in big trouble.
With the Bobruisk club looking like it is attempting a great escape at the bottom of the league, it leaves Smolevichi floundering and still four points adrift of even the relegation playoff place. The time off over the next few weeks might give the players a chance to recharge their batteries, but it is not looking good for the Premier League minnows.
Prediction and Pick
Dinamo Minsk to Win
It is not an understatement to say that Dinamo has not been the most interesting side to watch in Belarus this season. Leonid Kuchuk was brought in in April with the club 12th in the table and more likely to be involved in a relegation scrap than a tilt at the top three.
That dream may have faded now as well, but there has been a turnaround in form. There would seem to be no way that Dinamo doesn’t win this one, but the odds for the single home win bet are really not worth it.
