The traditional powerhouse of Belarusian soccer is really struggling so far and has only managed one win in the opening four games. But a determined Neman Grodno side will be no pushover, either.
The hosts will look to the rest of the table and believe that there is still plenty of time to make a concerted effort to challenge for the top spots. But the capital city side will need to find some more points soon if that is to be the case.
I discuss my prediction and provide my pick below in this Dinamo Minsk vs. Neman Grodno betting preview.
Latest Odds for Dinamo Minsk vs. Neman Grodno
Dinamo Minsk to Win-153
Neman Grodno to Win+483
Online sportsbook BetOnline has looked to these two clubs’ standing in the Belarusian game, rather than recent form, to price this game by the look of it. Dinamo’s start to the season has been woeful, but there is also a feeling that its poor form must end sometime soon. That being said, the odds for a draw or an away win look more value here.
Dinamo Minsk may not have won the Belarusian Premier League since 2004, but it has competed, at least. The club has only finished outside the top four on one occasion since that triumph and is always considered one of the favorites to challenge BATE at the top. But this season has been a disaster so far.
The win over Zhodino had looked to get things back on track, but the loss to Gorodeya at the weekend leaves the club third from bottom with just one win in four games. A leaky defense has been the main problem, so manager Sergey Gurenko may look to move around his back line once again.
Neman Grodno is far more a middling side traditionally, so its less-than-stellar start to the campaign is just about par for the course. It hasn’t really faced any of the front runners yet this year, and this may be the game where its largely unbeaten record is dealt a blow.
The home draw with Belshina at the weekend was a disappointment, as it was a real opportunity to climb the table. Now Neman must face a Dinamo Minsk side that is desperate to show that it should be higher up in the table. The defense has been strong so far this season, but it could well be tested here.
Dinamo Minsk vs. Neman Grodno Pick
Dinamo Minsk to Win
Dinamo has been utterly unconvincing so far this year, but the visit of Neman is a great chance to kick start its season. Belgian-Brazilian Danilo received two yellow cards in the game against Gorodeya at the weekend, so there will have to be some reshuffling up front. Maybe the change will be just what Dinamo needs.
