Dignitas vs. Fnatic Betting Preview, April 28, 2020

The group stage of the ESL One: Road to Rio event is heating up and today’s schedule includes some matchups that could prove very decisive.

The European division kicks off with an early bout between Swedish outfits Dignitas and Fnatic. These teams couldn’t be further apart right now but can the huge underdog turn the tide against the ESL Pro League champions?

My Dignitas vs. Fnatic betting preview for today tries to give you the answer by analyzing the teams’ recent form and their past meetings, and by providing a prediction based on the betting odds.

Let’s first see what one of the top rated CS:GO betting sites has rolled out for the tie.

Dignitas vs. Fnatic Odds

Match Winner

Dignitas +466
Fnatic -769

Map Advantage

Dignitas (+1.5) +141
Fnatic (-1.5) -196

Total Maps Played

Under 2.5 -227
Over 2.5 +175

These odds are taken from SportsBetting and I believe they realistically portray what everyone expects will happen here.

It’s time for my team analysis so let’s check out if Dignitas has any chance of putting up a decent challenge.

Dignitas Team Analysis

Things are definitely looking grim for the organization right now. They were favorites to start their ESL One qualifying campaigh with a win against Heretics but fell short once again.

Few people doubted NiP’s win in the second round and the Ninjas proved they are a far better team right now by pummeling f0rest and his teammates.

So, after racking up two straight defeats, Dignitas will now have to face the ESL Pro League champion and one of the most clinical rosters on the scene.

And their chances for success don’t look too good.

Fnatic Team Analysis

After a surprising 2:0 loss against ENCE in the first round, the Pro League champions rallied and were able to overcome their bitter foe Astralis in three rounds.

As we all expected, it was a bloody tie with a lot of twists and turns but Fnatic’s superior quality on Overpass gave them the win in the end.

I said after the first round that this team is not one to panic and they immediately delivered against one of the top teams.

KRIMZ and JW looked superb in the latest win and Dignitas should be an easy job for both of them.

Dignitas vs. Fnatic Prediction and Pick

This one can be over quickly but a couple of things give me pause. First of all, we’ ve already seen plenty of surprises since the start of the ESL One qualifiers and Fnatic was right in the center of one of the big ones.

Falling to ENCE means that Golden and his guys are prone to underestimating lower-ranked opposition in the early stages of events. Dignitas is in a woeful state right now but it has to be said that they took a round from Fnatic in their last meeting.

Given all that, I feel the Over market presents a very attractive price and it’s rare to find such value at this level. Fnatic will probably take another W but give yourself a chance to score big by backing the underdog to clinch a map.
