Dignitas vs. ENCE Betting Preview, May 1, 2020

One of the two Group B matches at the ESL One: Road to Rio tournaments pins together European bottom-dwellers Dignitas and ENCE.

The Scandinavian outfits have both shown some brief flashes of brilliance but have overall failed to navigate a tough group full of elite outfits and the exciting Movistar Riders.

This tie will be crucial for their chances of advancing to the playoffs and my Dignitas vs. ENCE betting preview for today brings you an overview of the teams’ recent form and some key stats to consider when betting.

I also provide my prediction in the end and there’s a free betting pick in there as well, so make sure you stick around.

First, let’s have a look at the betting prices.

ENCE’s recent win at the Elisa Invititational tournament and higher ranking has prompted the bookmakers to give them an advantage. But can Dignitas defy the odds and keep their hopes alive?

Let’s move on to my analysis and try to figure that out.

Team Dignitas Analysis

The Swedes were handed a relatively easy matchup against Heretics to start off the qualifiers and they were a huge favorite to come away with the win.

Despite a good start on Dust II, f0rest and his teammates couldn’t overpower their opponents and lost on both Inferno and Nuke.

It was a tough blow especially with matches against NiP and Fnatic coming up.

The Ninjas had no problems dispatching the Swedish outfit but then Dignitas showed they are not completely harmless by staging a terrific comeback against the ESL Pro League champions in the next round.

When Fnatic edged them on Train the tie looked over for me. However, led by hallzerk and GeT_RiGhT, the Swedes took the second round on Overpass to overtime and clinched an emphatic 25:22 win.

The third map was their preferred Dust II where f0rest outplayed the entire Fnatic team to seal a highly-unlikely victory.

Hopes of a good run were quickly dashed by ZywOo and his Vitality team, though, and now Dignitas are looking down the barrel of the gun.

Team ENCE Analysis

The Finns have more or less endured the same fate so far. They started with a brilliant 2:0 win against Fnatic but failed to win any of their next three ESL One qualifiers.

They were completely blown away by the Heretics in a game that saw them win only 11 rounds on Nuke and Inferno combined.

ENCE did push NiP in the next fixture but a tiebreak loss on Overpass took away their confidence and they faltered on Inferno.

Things are looking grim but the recent win against Dignitas at the Elisa Invitational will give SuNny and his team hopes that they can remain in the ESL One playoffs hunt.

Dignitas vs. ENCE Betting Prediction and Pick

Yesterday’s game was the first time these teams met after their re-branding and ENCE ended up winning with a 16:11 scoreline on Dust II.

However, the format and pressure that comes with playing at the ESL ONE event are very different. Both teams are pressed against the wall and they are not exactly specialists in these situations.

Overall, I feel it will be a very tight game since the teams boast similar records and quality on the roster.

It’s tough to predict the winner but this should go to a third round, so I’m picking the Over 2.5 maps market and I believe it represents the best betting value.
