This Deportivo Las Sabanas vs. Municipal Jalapa betting preview covers the April 8 match between the two teams. Las Sabanas host Jalapa on matchday 15 of the Clausura season knowing that its hopes of advancing to the playoffs — as in the Apertura — have all but gone with just four games to go.
Jalapa’s case for an extension to its season looks far more promising, and the northernmost club in the country will regard this fixture as a very good opportunity for some more points and to put some pressure on the teams immediately above it in the league table.
Deportivo Las Sabanas vs. Municipal Jalapa Odds
Deportivo Las Sabanas to Win+159
Municipal Jalapa to Win+115
Bookmaker BetOnline has Jalapa as the favorite to win this game, but the odds are not too convincing, possibly because of Las Sabanas’ history of upsetting some of the bigger clubs during the season. The draw might be a possibility here, but initial thoughts probably do end up favoring the away side.
Las Sabanas was unable to pick up the win against Deportivo Ocotal last time out that would have raised the club off of the bottom of the table. Instead, it still sits in tenth place with just ten points from its 14 games thanks to a 1-1 draw. There are now eight points between Las Sabanas and the playoff spots.
Las Sabanas actually took the lead against Ocotal but gave away a penalty ten minutes from time that meant that the game ended all square. There is some hope, as three of the four remaining games are at home, but a win here is much needed.
Jalapa’s position is looking much better, but the loss to Chinandega at the weekend was a bitter blow. Municipal just couldn’t break down its opponent’s defense after conceding an early goal and will want to get back to winning ways against the team at the bottom of the league.
Scoring goals has been difficult for Jalapa during the Clausura, but this game is the best chance it will get to change that. Las Sabanas has the worst defense in the league, so a few goals from the visitors could be on the cards.
Deportivo Las Sabanas vs. Municipal Jalapa Pick
Municipal Jalapa to Win
Considering how poorly Las Sabanas has played in the Clausura — especially in comparison with the top-six finish in the Apertura — the price for a Jalapa win is not really that bad. If the strikers can find their scoring boots, then a big win might make the big three at the top of the table look nervously over their shoulders. Even if this isn’t a high-scoring game, Jalapa should still come through with all three points.
