DeAndre Hopkins Props for 2020 With Odds and Picks

Things are looking pretty good for the Arizona Cardinals. They may not yet be ready to take down the NFC West, but they are ascending to the point where Kyler Murray could win the 2020 NFL MVP award.

“Could” and “doing” are two very different things, but a huge reason for the optimism in the desert is the arrival of superstar wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.

The former Houston Texans star recently said he feels he can post even better numbers with his new team.

With Bovada offering some DeAndre Hopkins prop bets going into the 2020 NFL season, I wondered if it may be worth putting your money where Nuk’s mouth is.

With that, here’s a look at some DeAndre Hopkins props and how I’d bet on them.

One of the first questions to ask is how many touchdowns Nuk will score in his new offense.

This is an interesting total to work with, as Hopkins had a down year by his standards (7 touchdowns) when it came to scoring, but he’s still going to be the featured weapon in this passing attack.

Prior to 2019, Hopkins had well over nine touchdowns in three of his previous four seasons. The guy is a pass-catching savant and ranked #2 when I assessed the best wide receivers in the NFL in 2020.

Due to his red zone chops, his role, and Arizona trending upward, I like his chances of getting back to double-digit scores. He needs nine to get the over here, and I think that’s doable.

Bettors do need to account for the change of scenery in some regard, but perhaps even more stable than betting on DeAndre Hopkins’ receiving touchdowns is guessing his yardage.

Hopkins has had such a massive role throughout his career, and he’s highly efficient, so topping this yardage total has been a breeze. He managed to do so in 2019 and has safely recorded over 1,125.5 yards in five of his NFL seasons.

Still blessed with elite talent and what figures to be a huge role in a pass-happy system, Nuk feels like a lock for the over.

I’ll certainly admit that you never know for sure what a player’s role will be after he changes teams. Hopkins also technically has to battle the likes of Christian Kirk and Larry Fitzgerald for targets, while establishing chemistry with Kyler Murray is rather key.

That said, the Cardinals did not trade for Nuk to have him be a decoy. He’s here to give Murray a reliable go-to receiver, and he’s going to be fed targets.

Even if he dips a bit, this total feels low for a guy who caught 104 balls in 2019 and has safely topped 94 catches four times in his career.
