Daily Fantasy NASCAR Picks for the 2020 Xfinity 500

NASCAR DFS Picks 2020 Xfinity 500

The 2020 Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 500 lasted a tad longer than anyone expected. Thanks to stubborn rain delays, the event was paused after just 52 laps, and wasn’t officially completed until Wednesday.

It was a wild sight, but in a crazy 2020 where weather impact – along with all kinds of other oddities – we probably should have braced for it.

Kyle Bush was the first across the finish line when the checkered flags waved, and sadly, he was not among my NASCAR DFS picks for that race.

I picked the wrong Busch brother, as I had Kurt in my final lineup. In fact, it was just an ice-cold week for my daily fantasy NASCAR picks as a whole.

The NASCAR Cup Series carries on this weekend, albeit in a delayed fashion. Top daily fantasy sports sites were slow to push out pricing due to everything that went on, but we should now have a clear view of which drivers we want to prioritize.

If you want to take a look at this from the betting side of things, take a look at our 2020 Xfinity 500 betting preview. For my favorite NASCAR DFS picks and top lineup, read on.

Joey Logano ($9.9k)

Martin Truex Jr. enters this race as the odds on favorite to win at the top NASCAR betting websites. You can certainly go with him, as he won here last year, and at the Xfinity 500 betting post linked above, he is also Adam Haynes’ pick to win.

The problem is the cost, a competitive field, and the fact that nobody has repeated as champion at the Xfinity 500 since Denny Hamlin did it in 2009 and 2010. That’s basically a decade of this title changing hands, and while Truex is obviously a great play, I prefer to save a little cash and balance things out a bit more.

That leads me to Logano.

He is almost $2k cheaper, despite being in fantastic form with finishes of 10th, 1st, and 2nd in his last three runs. He also won this exact race two years ago, and cracked the top-10 last year.

Logano starts far up enough (7th) that he’ll have an inside track at a top-5 finish, but not so far that faring a little worse than expected would kill you. He’s also led 45+ laps in two of his last four races, so overall, I think we’re getting an elite play at a pretty fair price.

William Byron ($7.7k)

One of the best values of the 2020 Xfinity 500 DFS slate has to be William Byron. If you want to bet on this race, you also have to keep him in mind as one of the best 2020 Xfinity 500 sleepers, of course.

Adam Haynes cited that Byron finished second at this event in 2019, while he’s just done well at Martinsville Speedway in general.

The 22-year old has been crazy competitive all year, and could be coming into his own for the stretch run.

Byron has two wins on the year, and has placed inside the top-10 on 14 different occasions. His average finish of 15.4 is also pretty safe when you look at his starting position (13th), while the recent form is certainly there (13th, 8th, 6th, and 4th) over his last four races.

Denny Hamlin ($10.2k)

If everyone is going to pay for a repeat out of Truex, I’ll gladly take another discounted stud in Hamlin. He’s too cheap by comparison, as you’re saving $1.6k for a guy who has seven wins in 2020, and has 22 instances this season where he cracked the top-10.

Hamlin hasn’t produced at an elite rate recently, yet he’s still finished 9th, 15th, and 15th. He’s also generated plenty of fast laps and has held some leads, so the form really isn’t bad at all.

He also has some pretty good shoes.

Jokes aside, I think Hamlin is due to challenge for first again, and he’s excelled at this track.

He’s won the Xfinity 500 twice before, and he’s been fantastic at this track. Take away a 24th place run from earlier this year, and Hamlin has finished 4th, 5th, 2nd, 12th, and 7th in his other five most recent trips.

If Hamlin is going to fly under the radar, I want all of the shares this weekend.

Best NASCAR DFS Lineup for the Xfinity 500

  • Joey Logano ($9.9k)
  • William Byron ($7.7)
  • Denny Hamlin ($10.2k)
  • Alex Bowman ($8.7k)
  • Austin Dillon ($7.3k)
  • Ty Dillon ($5.9k)

I already went over my top three NASCAR DFS picks, so you can go with those guys and finish your Xfinity 500 daily fantasy NASCAR lineups however you want.

Or you can tack on these other three Xfinity 500 DFS picks, as I really like the value with the Dillon brothers, as well as another fantastic mid-range driver in Bowman.

Bowman is another guy Adam Haynes touched on if you’re betting on some sleepers to win this race, and it’s hard to argue against the logic. He’s been in terrific form, finishing 5th, 3rd, and 8th in his last three tries.

Bowman has a win on the year, has 15 finishes inside the top-10, and also finished 6th at this track earlier this season. The momentum and talent is there, and starting in the 3rd spot may benefit him in this race.

I don’t have compelling arguments for Ty or Austin Dillon. They save you the cash you need to build this lineup, and Ty Dillon starting in the 25th spot makes him a solid place differential play.

Austin Dillon offers a better floor and ceiling, and is probably too cheap for what he’s capable of. He’s been really consistent lately, finishing inside the top-20 or far better in each of his last four runs.

I think with a 14th spot placing, Dillon could be poised for a nice race.

Overall, I love this lineup because I feel like I am getting four elite drivers that all have a very good chance of getting inside the top-10, and they all have the ability to win this thing.

The Dillon brothers won’t push for the win, but I think Austin is a threat to stay inside the top-15, and if Ty can just finish inside the top-25, he’ll be worth the punt.

If you like these NASCAR DFS picks, consider upping the ante a bit and backing these drivers when you do your online sports betting this weekend.
