Daily Fantasy Football Picks for NFL Week 14 (2020)

NFL DFS Picks Week 14, 2020

You can’t get anywhere in daily fantasy football without a good core. I try to build a strong one each week, and I’m aiming to do it again with my NFL DFS picks for week 14.

Last week’s batch of daily fantasy football picks wasn’t perfect, but Aaron Rodgers (23 fantasy points) was plenty solid, and Darren Waller (48!!) was an insane hit.

DeVante Parker got ejected from his game, and the Eagles continue to misuse Miles Sanders, so hopefully, you avoided those guys or managed to win despite them.

It was another week of dodging landmines beyond those guys. Derrick Henry was awful, Devontae Booker was bad chalk, and Justin Herbert face-planted with six fantasy points.

Luckily, I wasn’t on any of those guys, and two of my top plays crushed.

Let’s see who makes the cut in my week 14 NFL DFS picks.

Russell Wilson, QB, Seahawks ($7.9k)

Most will shy away from Wilson this week, and I totally get it. For one, he’s basically the same price as Patrick Mahomes, and in general, he’s rather expensive.

He’s also been bad for DFS lately, putting up four total passing touchdowns over his last four games.

The #LetRussCook and NFL MVP chants have died down, and Seattle seems to be much more worried about simply grinding out wins rather than letting Wilson air it out.

That led to a dispiriting loss to the Giants last week, though, so something tells me this team will look at itself and realize Wilson needs to start shouldering the load again.

Regardless, a date with the winless Jets (7th most passing touchdowns allowed in 2020) looks quite alluring on paper. This, the team that gave up 35 fantasy points to Derek Carr and literally didn’t try on their final play in a crushing defeat.

Wilson has cooled off lately, but that doesn’t mean he can’t heat back up. I think he does just that in week 14, and hopefully at low ownership.

Derrick Henry, RB, Titans ($8.7k)

Aaron Jones is also high on my list as he faces a putrid Detroit Lions run defense, but there’s nothing like an angry Derrick Henry.

Henry’s price dropped after he fumbled and struggled overall last week, but I actually predicted that would happen against a tough Browns run defense.

This week, it’s the exact opposite. Not only will Henry be extra motivated to redeem himself, but the Titans badly need a win. They also happen to face a hapless Jaguars team that has been abused (7th most rushing yards allowed) over their last two games.

Oh, and they historically have had zero answers for Henry.

  • Week 2, 2020 – 84 yards, 2 TDs
  • Week 11, 2019 – 175 yards, 2 TDs
  • Week 3, 2019 – 46 yards, 1 TDs
  • Week 14, 2018 – 238 yards, 4 TDs

These are his last four games against his familiar foe, and they haven’t gotten any better against the run. This is the mother of all smash spots for a determined Henry, and fading him could prove to be catastrophic.

Michael Thomas, WR, Saints ($7.1k)

This also feels like a good week to highlight Michael Thomas in my NFL DFS picks. He’s managed to be quite useful even with Taysom Hill running the offense, twice topping 20+ fantasy points.

He’s done so without even scoring a touchdown, while the Saints aren’t throwing the ball as much as they would with a healthy Drew Brees under center.

Oh, and there’s word Brees could return as early as this week.

Whether Brees is back or not, we’ve seen what Thomas can do with a downgrade under center.

Add in a terrific matchup with the Eagles, who have been absolutely torched the last two weeks by Davante Adams and DK Metcalf, and I don’t see much reason to get away from MT this week.

Travis Kelce, TE, Chiefs ($7.4k)

Why get cute here? Darren Waller may bring in some recency bias ownership, as he dropped an NBA DFS score on everyone last week.

I was all over him as the top tight end play, and if you didn’t roster Waller, it’s unlikely you cashed. You darn sure we’re taking down a GPP without him.

Waller remains a fine try, but he’s got a difficult matchup in front of him, and his floor is much lower than Kelce’s.

Kelce is matchup proof. He crushed a Broncos defense that ranks 7th against the position, pouring in 30 fantasy points. Miami isn’t an easy matchup, but they’ve also benefited from a lot of favorable games lately.

Kansas City has a plethora of weapons for the Dolphins to worry about, so stopping Kelce is far from their lone priority. The price is steep, but tight end is abysmal as ever. Paying for Kelce to crack 100 yards or score a touchdown seems to be worth it in week 14.

Seattle Seahawks Defense ($3k)

I also like the Seahawks as one of my favorite week 14 NFL DFS picks. Seattle has been much better on defense lately, even if nobody wants to admit it.

They’re not blowing the door off the hinges, but their pass rush is fairly lively, and they’re not getting smoked like they were earlier in the year.

The Seahawks have been flat out rock-solid, allowing just 23, 21, 17, and 17 points over their last four games. That’s helped generate 5, 5, 9, and 9 fantasy points.

Again, not amazing, but this unit is playing far better than they were for the first half of the season. Now they get the New York Jets, who aren’t even trying to hide their tank job anymore.

Seattle is also a big favorite at the top NFL betting sites, which naturally plays into their defense, likely performing well in a game they probably need to win.

Summary

There is more work to be done as you try to take down a big GPP this week. My only hope is that checking out my NFL DFS picks for week 14 gets you one step closer to that huge win.

I’ll have more week 14 daily fantasy football advice on the way, too, as my top sleepers and favorite lineups will be released later in the week.

There’s always upside in rolling with some of my insight and placing some bets on NFL games, too. Before you wager any cash, though, see what the top experts at GS.com think in our NFL picks section.
