Daily Fantasy Football Picks for NFL Week 12 (2020)

NFL DFS Picks for Week 12 2020

Week 12 in daily fantasy football will be a bit abnormal. The slate technically gets started when we’re all stuffing our faces on Thanksgiving Day, and that eliminates three games from the schedule.

Personally, I like a slightly condensed field. It helps me take harsher stances and easily decide who my favorite plays will be.

That probably makes figuring out my top NFL DFS picks for week 12 less stressful, too. Not that I’m coming off a bad week, of course.

Lamar Jackson wasn’t the hit I thought he’d be, but my other plays were solid. Dalvin Cook smashed, per usual, Mark Andrews was a monster, the Miami defense still forced two turnovers, and Amari Cooper was fine enough with six catches for 81 yards.

My NFL DFS picks could have been a bit better, but you’d probably agree when I say that last week was pretty nightmarish as a whole for daily fantasy football.

We can hit the reset button with a new week, though. With that, let’s take a look at my favorite NFL DFS picks to target in week 12.

Taysom Hill, QB, Saints ($6.2k)

I don’t particularly love the road date with a capable Denver Broncos defense, but I refuse to gloss over Taysom Hill at this price.

The nice thing is we might get Hill at low ownership. He’s on the road, he’s facing a defense that abused Tua Tagovailoa last week, and his price went up at DraftKings.

All of that works against Hill, but he’s just too cheap for the floor he gives you. He didn’t even throw a touchdown pass last week, and he still got 25 fantasy points.

The rushing ability elevates his floor considerably, yet there was actually a lot to like from him as a pure passer in this game.

Hill probably isn’t going to shred the Broncos completely, but I think he can do enough as a passer (combined with his rushing stats) to give us another 20+ point effort.

There are safer options that are more expensive, but if Hill can get 20-25 again as he did in his first NFL start, he probably won’t be a guy we would want to have faded.

Nick Chubb, RB, Browns ($7.1k)

Chubb is easily among the best NFL DFS picks for week 12, as well. He’s done nothing but crush in his first two games back from injury, as he’s topped 100+ rushing yards in both outings.

Plus, the dude is a savage.

The huge chunk plays are there, and while Kareem Hunt can vulture some of his scores, this guy is still a threat to find the end-zone every week.

In week 12, Chubb could just keep building momentum as he takes on a bad Jaguars defense that kind of made a slow James Conner look competent last week.

Chubb is absurdly explosive, and running the ball is the way Cleveland wins. They’re basically unstoppable, and in this spot, Chubb has a ridiculous ceiling.

His salary doesn’t really reflect that, and we should take advantage of it this week.

D.J. Moore, WR, Panthers ($6.2k)

Another guy I have zero hesitance sliding into my week 12 daily fantasy football picks is Moore, who is back on everyone’s radar after a dry spell.

Even with a quarterback change last week, Moore still remained involved and made several nice plays. He’s now quietly put up 19 and 24 fantasy points over his last two games.

Carolina does have a nice array of weapons, so it’s always possible things rotate in favor of another Panthers receiver. However, he had 18 targets in this two-game sample size, and he also gets a mouth-watering matchup against Minnesota (29th vs. WRs in 2020).

The Vikings just got torched by Andy Dalton, so no matter who is under center for the Panthers this week, you better believe I have interest in the explosive Moore.

Darren Waller, TE, Raiders ($6k)

I think I am done dumpster diving at tight end. Travis Kelce is the most expensive tight end on this slate and is well worth it, but I like the $1k in savings if I drop down to Waller.

Waller doesn’t offer the same floor, or ceiling Kelce does, but he’s a PPR god that woke back up with 21 fantasy points last week.

He also has the superior matchup in week 12.

He’ll be going up against a weak Falcons defense that once gave up three scores to Robert Tonyan and happen to rank dead last against fantasy tight ends on the season.

They simply don’t have anyone that can check and keep up with Waller consistently all game. Playing in a dome, Waller’s speed will show out, and he’ll be a tough fade at this price.

New Orleans Saints Defense ($3.8k)

Like I said, I think that the Saints vs. Broncos game will be pretty ugly. So much so that I really like the Under as one of my top Week 12 NFL locks.

While true, I think Taysom Hill benefits from a slugfest, and I would imagine the Saints defense would, as well.

The first thing to get excited about is the matchup against Drew Lock. He just has not progressed quickly enough for Denver and keeps giving the ball away. He’s now turned the ball over at least once in every single game this year, and he could implode in this spot.

New Orleans can also generate pressure and force turnovers, but they also own the NFL’s second-best run defense. If this game comes down to Lock airing it out, the Saints are going to be worth this hefty price tag.

Summary

I love all of my NFL DFS picks for week 12, and this is probably my main core when looking to build daily fantasy football lineups this week.

If you doubt Hill or don’t want to pay for the Saints, I can’t fault that. If you’d rather pay up for Dalvin Cook than go the intermediate route with Chubb, I get the logic there, too.

But every single play here is either too cheap or in a smash spot. That probably makes this collection of week 12 NFL DFS picks somewhat chalky, but that just means you’ll have to differentiate with your sleepers in some manner.

Like always, be sure to also keep in mind how the betting lines impact things. You can get a head start on that process by taking a look at my week 12 NFL betting odds breakdown.
