Daily Fantasy Basketball Value Plays For Monday, January 13th

| January 13, 2020 8:14 am PDT
NBA DFS Sleepers Monday January 13th

Last time I handed out some NBA DFS sleepers, our readers struck gold. Assuming you paired my favorite daily fantasy basketball value picks with the right studs, of course.

Regardless, Patrick Beverley smashed with 46 fantasy points and RJ Barrett was rock solid for his price, Tim Hardaway Jr. also dropped in 22 real points, Josh Hart produced a nice double-double, Trevor Ariza generated another strong stat line and Kyle Kuzma was a big hit with The Brow sidelined.

That was probably my best night of the year for spotting value, and that’s saying something since it’s been a solid ride. I am not seeing quite as much majestic value for Monday’s seven-game slate, but we still have to try.

Check out the latest betting odds at your favorite NBA betting websites and then consider some of these NBA DFS value plays for 1/13 at DraftKings:

Best NBA DFS Point Guard Sleepers

  • Dennis Schroder – Oklahoma City Thunder ($5.4k)
  • T.J. McConnell – Indiana Pacers ($4.2k)
  • Alex Caruso – Los Angeles Lakers ($3k)

Malcolm Brogdon is questionable again tonight due to an illness. He could be back, but if he’s out you need to consider loading up on some T.J. McConnell shares.

When Brogdon is off the floor, McConnell is typically busy, averaging 1.02 fantasy points per minute.

Alex Caruso is a total GPP dart throw. The Lakers are banged up and could be down another body if Rajon Rondo is out. Caruso’s run isn’t concrete, but if L.A. is short on guard help he’s worth a look.

Dennis Schroder is arguably too cheap given his current role and production off the bench. He has the green light to score at will and has a nice matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Top NBA DFS Shooting Guard Sleepers

  • Aaron Holiday – Indiana Pacers ($5.2k)
  • Jarrett Culver – Minnesota Timberwolves ($4.8k)
  • Nickeil Alexander-Walker – New Orleans Pelicans ($3.5k)

It’s possible Jrue Holiday is back on the court tonight, but there’s also a chance both he and J.J. Redick remain out. That’d make Lonzo Ball a priority play, but it also could give way to nice run for NAW.

Alexander-Walker lets it fly offensively and he’s just too cheap if he’s going to get around 25 minutes of floor time.

Jarrett Culver is locked into a nice role, regardless of health for Minnesota right now. Despite that, he’s still a pretty nice price, so if you need a salary saver he’s not the worst try.

If you like T.J. McConnell, you should be just as interested in Holiday. His value hinges to Brogdon being out, but he’d be a good bet for around 30 minutes and could smash this price tag.

NBA DFS Small Forward Value Picks

  • Josh Hart – New Orleans Pelicans ($5.3k)
  • Terrence Ross – Orlando Magic ($5k)
  • Sekou Doumbouya – Detroit Pistons ($4.9k)

Josh Hart is once again in play with all of the dead bodies in New Orleans. He’s a fine value play off the bench no matter what, but I’d have a lot of interest in him if both Jrue and Redick sit.

Terrence Ross is getting nice burn thanks to injuries to the Orlando Magic. Keep an eye on the status of D.J. Augustin. If he misses another game, Ross would potentially demolish this price tag.

That said, my favorite small forward value is Sekou. He’s still getting really good run and has a pretty versatile skill-set. Just be mindful of Markieff Morris ($4.1k), who did return to action over the weekend.

Best NBA DFS Power Forward Sleepers

  • Kyle Kuzma – Los Angeles Lakers ($5.9k)
  • Carmelo Anthony – Portland Trail Blazers ($5.4k)
  • Mike Scott – Philadelphia 76ers ($3.6k)

LeBron James should play tonight, but Anthony Davis is still questionable. The Brow has missed the last two games after taking a hard fall and if he’s out again, Kuz will be pretty popular.

You can pivot down to Melo, who is arguably too cheap given his usage in the face of a beatable Hornets defense.

I also don’t hate Mike Scott as a punt. Joel Embiid remains out, which means Scott could start and see 20+ minutes if not much more. He can get hot and a date with the Pacers could have production flow his way.

Top NBA DFS Center Sleepers

  • Jaxson Hayes – New Orleans Pelicans ($4.6k)
  • JaVale McGee – Los Angeles Lakers ($4.2k)
  • Christian Wood – Detroit Pistons ($4k)

Derrick Favors could sit out on Monday. Even with a tough matchup against Andre Drummond looming, that would make Jaxson Hayes one of the chalky plays of the night.

I also wouldn’t hate McGee if The Brow remained sidelined, while Wood went nuts in his last game. In a showdown with the Pels, he can’t be completely ignored.

There isn’t a ton of amazing value that is concrete right now, but that could change in a hurry once news trickles out regarding the Lakers, Pacers and Pelicans, among others.

I still think there’s plenty of solid NBA DFS sleepers to get you started. That said, this really doesn’t feel like a “spend up” slate. King James and Drummond stand out the most – if Brow is out – but I personally am digging a more balanced lineup construction.

Whatever you decide to do, I wish you luck with your daily fantasy basketball picks tonight. For NBA betting insight, heads over to our NBA game picks page.
