Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers For Monday, January 27th

Monday’s slate is conducted with a heavy heart, as the passing of legendary Lakers star Kobe Bryant is nothing short of horrifying.
While we all mourn the loss of an all-time great, the NBA marches on with a six-game slate on Monday night.
The last time we spoke, I was handing out some of my favorite NBA DFS value picks for Friday night’s slate. Several of them worked out decently, as T.J. McConnell, Tyler Herro, Christian Wood and Nerlens Noel were all pretty good.
None of these guys were direct smashes, however, so your path to a big win may have gone down a different road.
Either way, it’s on to the next one. Check out the latest lines at the best NBA sportsbooks and join me as I break down the top sleepers for 1/27 at DraftKings:
Chris Clemons, Rockets – PG ($3k)
It isn’t easy to back someone as volatile as Clemons, but the Rockets recalled him this weekend, knowing fully that they could be without both James Harden and Russell Westbrook tonight.
There are a lot of guys to look at in Houston tonight if that news holds true, but Clemons at the bare minimum tops the list. With Harden and Russ of the floor, he has an insane 33.9% usage rate and averages 1.28 fantasy points per minute.
- Dejounte Murray, Spurs – PG ($4.5k)
- Bruce Brown, Pistons – PG ($4.7k)
- Darius Garland, Cavaliers – PG ($4.8k)
Tyler Herro, Heat – SG ($5k)
A lot of the focus tonight will undeniably be on the Rockets, but Miami is another team that is really banged up. The Heat were without several guys in their last game, which led to the explosive Herro logging 40 minutes.
Herro only produced 25 fantasy points in that game and his price has spiked, so I’m curious to see if his ownership stays grounded. It probably shouldn’t, as the Heat could be down up two four key players for tonight’s tilt against the Magic.
- Dion Waiters, Heat – SG ($3.5k)
- Austin Rivers, Rockets – SG ($3.6k)
- Seth Curry, Mavericks – SG ($4.3k)
Danuel House Jr., Rockets – SF ($3.9k)
The top two spots to seek value are Houston and Miami. That has House standing out, even though most will look to guys like Eric Gordon and Ben McLemore first.
House is just way cheaper and is still going to be a threat to log 30+ minutes with Houston’s top two superstars likely out.
- Derrick Jones Jr., Heat – SF ($3.9k)
- Svi Mykhailiuk, Pistons – SF ($5k)
- Duncan Robinson, Heat – SF ($5.1k)
Thaddeus Young, Bulls – PF ($4.9k)
The Chicago Bulls are extremely shorthanded due to injuries right now, as Lauri Markkanen and three other big men are already ruled out for this game.
That puts a lot on Young, who logged 35 minutes in his last game and could get all of the run he can handle tonight. With 24+ fantasy points in three of his last four games, he looks like a great source of value tonight.
- P.J. Tucker, Rockets – PF ($4.1k)
- Maxi Kleber, Mavericks – PF ($4.3k)
- Dewayne Dedmon, Kings – PF ($4.7k)
Tristan Thompson, Cavaliers – C ($5.7k)
Not only is center not the spot to save cash at tonight, but there also just isn’t a ton of value to fall in love with. I don’t hate TT, however. The Cavs center has toasted Detroit (43 fantasy points per game) across three meetings and will be needed to try to slow down Andre Drummond.
I’d probably just pay up for Drum or KAT, but if there’s a value center to rally behind, Thompson surely is it.
- Luke Kornet, Bulls – C ($4.4k)
- Kelly Olynyk, Heat – C ($4.5k)
- Markieff Morris, Pistons – C ($4.9k)
Summary
This slate is not light on superstars, as Karl-Anthony Towns, James Harden, Andre Drummond and Luka Doncic are just some of the huge names that stand out.
Who you end up paying up for is your call, but the aforementioned daily fantasy basketball value picks will hopefully help you in your lineup building process.
