Top Daily Fantasy Basketball Plays, Values, and Lineup Help for September 3, 2020

NBA DFS Picks September 3, 2020

I took a break from cranking out some NBA DFS picks on Wednesday, but we are back at it for Thursday’s action.

The NBA playoffs move forward and still have two-game slates, and we’re here to help you build your NBA DFS lineups for as long as that’s the case.

Denver and L.A. start their second-round series, while the Raptors eye their first win in their round two clash with Boston.

Let’s see which players need to be on your roster in Thursday’s NBA DFS picks, sleepers, and lineup advice breakdown.

Top NBA DFS Picks for September 3

  • Kyle Lowry, PG, Raptors ($7.5k)
  • Fred VanVleet, SG, Raptors ($7.7k)
  • Paul George, SF, Clippers ($8.2k)
  • Pascal Siakam, PF, Raptors ($7.9k)
  • Nikola Jokic, C, Nuggets ($9.5k)

I made the mistake of paying up for Jamal Murray on Tuesday, but I see no need to do so here. He has a lot of work to do to pay off a $9.3k salary, and it seems pointless to chase him when Lowry is sitting here at $7.5k.

I will do the same at SG, as FVV got back on track in his last game, and brings a really nice floor. Both of these guys feel like optimal plays in a game the Raptors absolutely have to get.

Jaylen Brown is cheaper and is totally viable at SF, but I prefer the upside PG-13 brings to the table. His shooting woes have been well documented in the playoffs, but the fact that he’s regularly approaching 35 fantasy points despite that is precisely why we should want to roster him.

Siakam broke out of his funk last game, as he notched a nice 44 fantasy points. He offers a pretty stable floor and considerable upside, and if you haven’t noticed, I love Toronto today.

We can wrap things up with Joker, who is far and away the top center play, and one of the best overall options on this slate. I won’t force him into my daily fantasy basketball lineups, but his ceiling is obviously worth considering.

Best NBA DFS Sleepers for Thursday

  • Reggie Jackson, PG, Clippers ($3.8k)
  • Gary Harris, SG, Nuggets ($4.2k)
  • OG Anunoby, SF, Raptors ($5.1k)
  • Jerami Grant, PF, Nuggets ($4.9k)
  • Ivica Zubac, C, Clippers ($4.8k)
  • Robert Williams, C, Celtics ($3.6k)

Reggie Jackson has been hit or miss as an NBA DFS value play, but he remains in the conversation if Patrick Beverley can’t suit up for game one.

Gary Harris is back and has logged 21 and 26 minutes in his first two games of the playoffs. He’s really not a reliable fantasy producer, but he should start pushing for 30+ minutes. As long as he’s getting quality run, we need to use him and hope for the best.

OG went above and beyond expectations in game two, as he generated 32 fantasy points. His value comes simply in his time on the floor, as he’s logged 33+ minutes in five of six playoff games this year. That kind of floor time will be hard to fade.

Center is where I will seek value. Good thing there’s lots to be had at the position, as Zubac is coming off a terrific outing, and logic suggests he’ll be needed to help contain Jokic.

There’s also Williams, who is getting seemingly reliable minutes against Toronto’s bigs. If we believe we can trust him getting 15-20 minutes, he’s viable at this price tag.

My Favorite NBA DFS Lineup For September 3

  • PG: Reggie Jackson – Clippers ($3.8k)
  • SG: Fred VanVleet – Raptors ($7.7k)
  • SF: Paul George – Clippers ($8.2k)
  • PF: OG Anunoby – Raptors ($5.1k)
  • C: Ivica Zubac – Clippers ($4.8k)
  • G: Kyle Lowry – Raptors ($7.5k)
  • F: Jerami Grant – Nuggets ($4.9k)
  • UTIL: Pascal Siakam – Raptors ($7.9k)

Sometimes in daily fantasy sports, you need to take a stand. On a tiny two-game slate, I’d certainly say that is the case.

For Thursday, I am stacking Raptors. You can entertain some options I don’t have crammed into my daily fantasy lineup, but these are my favorite plays. I also see Toronto taking game three, but you can read more about that at our NBA picks section.

Toronto’s players offer way too much value, they have a solid collective ceiling, and their floor is fantastic. My value comes from L.A. and Denver for the most part, as Grant is getting really good minutes, and if Bev is out, Jackson feels like good chalk.

Zubaca is a calculated risk. The Clippers have given him more minutes than Montrezl Harrell, and he’s produced. His size will likely be needed against Jokic, and I think he fares well.

PG-13 is my top stud. Do I feel amazing about fading Jokic, Kawhi Leonard, or Jayson Tatum? No, and I don’t love fading Kemba Walker or Jaylen Brown, either. If you’re building multiple NBA DFS lineups, getting those other options in would obviously be ideal.

For one lineup, though, I want a high floor, a few solid options nobody will be on, and some good chalk. Check ownership to see if fading Jokic/Leonard makes sense, but for now, I love this group of daily fantasy basketball picks for Thursday’s games.
