Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks to Target for Saturday, September 12, 2020

Another daily fantasy baseball slate is upon us, which means we need to gauge which MLB DFS stacks are worth our time and money.

One day the Braves drop 29 runs on the league. The next they could get blanked. Team talent, matchups, and where the games are being played can all factor into who you want to stack and when.

There’s even more than usual to think about on Saturday, too, as 16 games hit the diamonds. Join me as I go over the best MLB DFS stacks for Saturday, September 12.

There is always a contrarian MLB DFS stack that erupts. On Saturday, it might be the Tigers. To be fair, this also happens to be a dream matchup for Reynaldo Lopez, but he could get blown up here.

Detroit has performed better than expected in 2020, as they do offer a little power, and seem to go off at random times. Tattooing Lopez wouldn’t feel so random, though. The Tigers are in a good park for hitting, and Lopez gives up all of the hard contact.

Lopez gives it up to both sides, too, with all hitters getting a .341+ wOBA, .210+ ISO, and a 41% or higher hard hit rate. This is a fly ball pitcher that gives up walks to lefties, and allows hits to everyone.

With Lopez’s whiff rate as just 18% against left-handers, you know what the priority is. However, as ugly as Detroit always looks (and feels), they’re a very interesting stack today.

The Cubs are always going to be on my radar when they have a decent matchup, and/or are getting a park upgrade. Miller Park certainly qualifies, while tonight they have a date with lefty Brett Anderson.

Anderson should only eat a few innings, but he hasn’t been great in 2020 (or ever), and it’s very possible the Cubs get to him early. They probably need to when you consider Milwaukee has one of the best bullpens in baseball, but we can’t be scared off by that.

The reality is that the Cubs are in a really nice spot, and if they get it going, maybe even the Brew Crew’s relievers can’t slow them down.

The Rockies are back home, so they’re also on our radar as they face Jaime Barria. Maybe that will play into the Halos being lower owned, though, as well as the fact that the Angels aren’t very good.

True, but they get the biggest park upgrade imaginable when they play in Coors Field, and they also get to go up against a beatable arm in Ryan Castellani (5.34 ERA).

Mike Trout headlines a pretty fun stack here, while Shohei Ohtani and a bunch of Angels bats that were previously crazy cheap are going to look rather appealing. Fire up your Angels stacks!

Give me all your Cardinals lefties! St. Louis went ham on Thursday, and I think they’re about to go off again on Saturday, as they face a guy in Anthony DeSclafani (7.20 ERA) that has serious issues with left-handed hitting.

DeSclafani gets hammered from that side of the plate (.340 wOBA, .213 ISO, 45% fly ball rate, 43% hard hit rate, and 11% walk rate), and St. Louis has just enough lefties to raise some hell.

There are always going to be other daily fantasy baseball hitters to consider, but these four teams give me four of the best MLB DFS stacks available to us on Saturday.
