Complexity vs. Fnatic Betting Preview, June 8, 2020

The playoffs of the DreamHack Masters 2020 Spring in Europe start today with several matches from the Lower Bracket on the schedule. The first one is between Complexity and Fnatic, two teams that were not at their best during the group stage of the competition.

They still did enough to progress, though, so an improved performance in the knockouts might open the door to a deep run in the second phase of the tournament. Of course, it all goes through a victory in the first round on Monday.

I share my thoughts on the potential winner in this Complexity vs. Fnatic betting preview. It features the latest available odds, analysis of both teams, my prediction, and a free betting pick.

Complexity vs. Fnatic Odds and Lines

  • Complexity to win; -120
  • Fnatic to win; -125
  • Complexity (+1.5); -292
  • Fnatic (-1.5); +192

  • Under 2.5; -141

Complexity Team Analysis

On the surface, Complexity had a decent run in the group stage of the DreamHack Masters 2020. The team registered two victories and only one defeat. And yet, one of the wins came against a badly-struggling at the time mousesports side and the competition as a whole wasn’t too impressive.

And yet, Complexity failed to finish first in the group and will have to start the playoffs in the Lower Bracket. On the bright side, the team has won several matches in a row in the past couple of days in #HomeSweetHome.

The problem is that they came against second-tier teams and I wouldn’t read too much into it. Fnatic is on another level and already defeated Complexity twice in 2020, without losing a single game.

Fnatic Team Analysis

The performance of Fnatic in the group stage of the DreamHack Masters was far from what we’re used to seeing. It all started with a disappointing victory against Team Spirit and finished with a close defeat at the hands of FaZe Clan.

The tough victory against Godsent in between was enough for Fnatic to progress to the knockouts, but the squad has to raise the bar. The signs have been positive last week, as the likes of Dignitas, mousesports, and Virtus.pro were beaten in the BLAST Premier: Spring 2020.

That should help Fnatic build some confidence going into the next match and the good head-to-head record versus Complexity in 2020 helps too.

Complexity vs. Fnatic Prediction and Free Pick

I can certainly see why the best esports betting sites view this match as a close call, but I think there are enough reasons to pick Fnatic today. The team has looked better last week and has the upper hand against Complexity recently.  I believe that the price of -125 is good enough under such circumstances.

  • Fnatic to win; -125
