Latest 2022 College Baseball World Series Odds

Texas+400
Arkansas+450
Stanford+500
Notre Dame+550
Ole Miss+650
Oklahoma+700
Auburn+700
Texas A&M+750

Here are the 2022 College Baseball World Series odds for the remaining eight teams from BetOnline. If these teams can survive the Super Regionals, they are more than capable of winning the 2022 CWS.

If you caught our CWS odds update before the Regionals started, you probably have noticed a change in the odds. Starting with the new favorite in the Texas Longhorns.

The Longhorns came into the 2022 season as the early favorites, but their season had a rocky start. However, they’ve bounced back to the top of the odds leaderboard.

Texas plowed through the Greenville Super Regional by beating Air Force (twice), Louisiana Tech, and East Carolina in the final best of 3 series. They could be right back to the team we thought they would be, which is bad news for everyone else.

However, they aren’t a heavy favorite, with Arkansas on their tail at (+450). Arkansas also came into the 2022 season as one of the top teams. They’ve been able to live up to the hype and will be looking to avenge their 2018 championship loss to Oregon State.

Unlike the Longhorns and Razorbacks, the rest of the teams were not highly rated coming into this season. However, they’ve proven to be better than their projections and could continue to prove the doubters wrong in 2022.

Before we dive into the rest of the teams on our College World Series betting guide, let’s take a closer look at Texas and see if they’re worth the favorite title.

Why the Texas Longhorns Are Favored to Win

Before making our 2022 College Baseball World Series predictions, we must look at the overall favorite and see if they are worth betting on.

Texas went 47–20 this year and has been in the College World Series a lot in their franchise history. They lead the country in CWS appearance (38), wins (88), and are tied for second in titles (6).

Before the Regionals round, their odds of winning the 2022 CWS were at (+1500). So how did they become the top dog if they were a longshot bet just a couple of weeks ago?

It all starts with their best player. 1st baseman Ivan Melendez is having a historical season with an incredible 32 home runs. That is good for the 13th most in college baseball history (single-season).

If you’re looking for a good display of his power, here’s his 31st home run of the year:

Melendez has more extra-base hits (32 home runs, 18 doubles, 2 triples) than strikeouts (48) this year. Behind Melendez, Texas hit 128 home runs as a team and ranked 3rd (tied) best in the country.

Their offense hasn’t been a problem this year, but their pitching could use some work. Lucas Gordon is their best starter with a 7-1 record (15 starts) and 2.68 ERA in 84 innings this year. Pete Hansen has also pitched respectably with an 11-2 record (16 starts) and 3.40 ERA in 103.1 innings pitched.

Outside of those two starters, Texas pitchers have struggled. Their team ERA is an unimpressive 4.18, making them vulnerable in the CWS.

If you think they can overcome their pitching struggles this year and win the championship, head to the top US betting sites to place your bets.

Possible Sleeper Bets to Consider for the 2022 CWS

Texas’ pitching struggles could open the door for every other team in this year’s tournament. If you make the correct 2022 College Baseball World Series predictions, you could be in for a big payout by the time a winner is crowned.

After all, the College World Series seems to have multiple insane upsets every year. So, wouldn’t it make sense to try and predict them this time around? Here arethree3 sleeper teams that you should consider making your College World Series pick on for 2022.

Notre Dame (+550)

If you think Texas’ pitching problem will be their Achilles’ Heel for this year, maybe you would consider taking a team with the opposite issue. The Fighting Irish haven’t been scoring many runs this year, but neither have their opponents.

To put things in perspective, Ivan Melendez has hit 32 home runs by himself this year. That’s almost more than Notre Dame’s top 3 home runs hitters combined (36). In addition, Notre Dame ranked 75th in runs this year with 418, which comes out to 7.6 per game.

Their team ERA was much better, ranking 12th at 3.95. John Michael Bertrand has been their ace with a 9-3 record and 2.69 ERA across 103.2 innings.

Notre Dame’s pitching played a significant role in their upset over the former No. 1 seed in Tennessee. They beat the Volunteers in two of their three games and dramatically earned their ticket to Omaha.

Tennessee was a heavy favorite on the 2022 College World Series odds a few weeks ago. They had (+250) odds before Regionals, which was a staggering lead over the next best team (Oregon State, +900).

Since the Fighting Irish beat the overwhelming favorites in the Knoxville Super Regional round, maybe that means they are the new top dog?

Sometimes it seems like the team that wins it all has a bit of magic on its side. That’s what the Irish seemed to have in their upset, which could carry over into the CWS.

Auburn (+700)

Auburn logo

You might see that Notre Dame has to play Texas in their first round of the 2022 CWS, which isn’t ideal. So maybe you should consider another team with an easier opponent in the first round.

Auburn might be a team with an angle here. They are taking on Ole Miss in the first round, who is a better matchup on paper than Texas.

The Tigers could go 42–20 in the 2022 season, which was better than Ole Miss’s 37–22. Ole Miss also had a losing record to teams in their conference (14-16). They’re both in the SEC, and Auburn was able to finish 16-13 on the year.

These teams were almost identical in team ERA, with Auburn at 4.42 and Ole Miss at 4.44. They also scored the exact same amount of runs this year (447).

It might not seem like much, but a more even matchup is always better than facing a team that clearly is better than you.

Sonny DiChiara is the Tigers’ best hitter this year. He leads the team in home runs with 22 and has an insane slash line of .392/.560/.809. That brings his OPS to 1.369, which is 3rd best in the country. He’s the anchor of their offense and will have to have a big tournament if they want to win.

From a pitching perspective, Auburn has a couple of capable arms. Joseph Gonzalez is their top guy and had a 2.95 ERA in 13 starts this year. But, again, they do not have Texas in their part of the bracket, which could mean that Auburn could be who will win the 2022 College World Series after it’s all said and done.

Texas A&M (+750)

Texas A&M logo

There are 4 SEC teams in the 2022 College Baseball World Series. Texas A&M finished with the best conference record out of any of them at 19-11 to go with their 42-18 record overall. In addition, the Aggies have series wins over some impressive teams this season.

They have beaten LSU, Arkansas, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and Texas this year. Texas was the only team they played just once, but everyone else they beat at least 2 out of 3 times. You have to beat tough teams, and the Aggies have done precisely that in 2022.

They don’t have comparable power to a team like Texas, but they have solid players across the board. Dylan Rock is their best hitter with a league-leading 1.143 OPS and 18 home runs. He’s also one of 3 players on the Texas A&M roster with more walks than strikeouts.

Rock will lead the charge, but the Aggies’ can score in just about any part of their lineup.

The run-prevention has been a problem for them this season, though. Sleeper teams always have an element of risk to them, so make sure you are aware when making your 2022 College Baseball World Series predictions.

Three starters on the Aggies’ roster have 15+ starts, but they all have an ERA above 4.75. Their records don’t look terrible, but they’ve benefited from good run support this season.

Of course, like all stats, ERAs aren’t the end-all-be-all. However, if these pitchers can churn out good enough innings, the Aggies could be the team to win it all eventually.

If there’s one thing you get out of our College Baseball World Series betting preview, it should be that any team can come out on top, no matter their rankings or odds.

2022 College Baseball World Series Prediction

Baseball on field

Betting on the 2022 College Baseball World Series odds will be a fun experience, whether you win or lose. Winning is the primary goal, but the CWS is so fun to watch that it will add to the experience.

You can simply print out the odds and blindly throw a dart to decide your College World Series prediction if you want. Every team has a chance to win any given game, and they all start 0-0. The tournament’s eventual winner will be the team who played their best ball at best possible time.

Important

As for my own College World Series pick, I will go with the Auburn Tigers. There’s a ton of value in their odds, and they don’t have to go through Texas on their side of the bracket.

You could very well bet on the most well-rounded team in the Longhorns, but the CWS seems to always have a shocking upset at some point or another.

The first round in Omaha starts on June 17th. It’s a double-elimination bracket, but the final series will be a best of 3. Baseball is an odd sport sometimes, so not having a 7-game series like the MLB World Series opens the door up for more upsets.

That will wrap up our College Baseball World Series betting preview for this year. However, our baseball betting strategy page is an excellent tool if you are new to gambling on baseball.
