Cloud9 – Another Step Forward?

The Americans have been one of the best teams in the tournament. They made it to Group A’s Phase 1 grand final and are currently 3rd in the points ranking.

Key player and captain of the team floppy has been instrumental in building the good momentum. As a start, he led his teammates to three solid wins against FunPlus Phoenix, Orgless, and Dignitas.

Cloud9 did lose to today’s opponents Envy, but immediately bounced back with a dominant performance in their tie with Copenhagen Flames.

Overall, their only recent hiccup has been the unexpected defeat by Envy and floppy will be itching to get revenge after a lackluster performance from the captain on Dust II was the deciding factor.

Envy – Can They Defy the Odds Again?

Envy is not exactly on the same wavelength. They kicked off their Flashpoint campaign with two heavy losses against Gen.G and MIBR.

Then came the win against Cloud 9, but the team was unable to build up a winning streak after immediately falling to HAVU in a 2:0 demolition.

This leaves the Canadians with only 45 points and they are currently sitting in 10th place, level with FunPlus Phoenix.

Nifty’s tactics have come under scrutiny since the beginning of the tournament, but the manner in which they beat Cloud 9 on Dust II and Train will give the guys hope that they can upset the odds once again.

Cloud9 vs. Envy Betting Pick

As much as I want to consider the great odds for another Envy win, I believe this will be an easy one for Cloud9.

The team is in much better form and has been far more consistent at the Flashpoint tournament. It’s true that floppy had a bad outing against Envy, but it was his only low point of the event so far and I expect he has learned his lesson.

On top of that, the maps favored Envy tremendously and I don’t believe they will be able to get both Dust II and Train again.

I will pick the under market as I feel this will be a quick one. The odds of -133 make sense and also cover a scenario in which Envy gets their favorite maps again and floppy has another off day.
