Bumamuru v Olympique Star Betting Preview

There are just three more rounds of soccer left in the Burundi Premier League to go now – and both these clubs could do with a few more points to ensure that their top flight status is assured for next season.

Bumamuru is in a better shape than its visitors here though, a win or even a draw could be enough to stay out of the relegation spots for good this year.

Here’s my Bumamuru vs. Olympique Star betting preview.

Bumamuru vs. Olympique Star Odds

Bumamuru to Win +125
The Draw +200
Olympique Star to Win +180

The betting sites make Bumamuru the favorite, but it is probably mostly down to home field advantage as there is not much to choose between the two clubs at the moment. With the recent form of both sides taken into account the odds for the draw might be the most attractive bet.

Match Preview

Both these sides are far too close to the bottom three for their liking at this stage of the season. Last year saw Bumamuru and Olympique Star as part of the mid table group of clubs, but relegation fears have loomed far larger this term.

For Bumamuru that is mostly down to a terrible recent run of form that has seen the club from the north west of Burundi win just one of its last eight games – and none of its last five. A win, or even a point, against Olympique Star on Saturday is desperately needed.

The visitors have had a patchy season themselves, getting by with the occasional victory among the draws and defeats that have left the club sitting just above the drop zone.

It is only LLB Academic and Kayanza United that Olympique Star has to worry about now, but the Muyinga club will look to achieve at least a draw here to ensure that the last two games go off without a hitch.

Bumamuru vs. Olympique Star Prediction and Pick

  • The Draw

With so much on the line, a draw would actually suit both sets of players and put all the pressure on LLB Academic and Kayanza United below. The game between them earlier in the season finished in a 2-2 draw and that could well be the way this one pans out. Bumamuru has drawn four out of its last five so there is definitely a precedent already set.
