BMW Championship DFS Picks for 2020 – Getting Your Ducks in a Row on DraftKings

BMW Championship DFS Picks for 2020

Being priced at $11.5K isn’t going to stop the most people from rostering Dustin Johnson at Olympia Fields. The guy just made 23 birdies and five eagles en route to lapping the field by 11 at the Northern Trust.

Who wouldn’t want Dustin in their lineup this week?

Me, for one.

Considering DJ’s lofty price and bloated ownership, I’m staying away.

Instead, I’m focusing my attention on the following BMW Championship DFS picks.

Bryson DeChambeau – $10,600

Don’t let a couple of monotonous rounds at TPC Boston let you stray too far from the “Mad Scientist.” Bryson’s going to licking his chops playing the BMW Championship at Olympia Fields – the same golf course he won the 2015 U.S. Amateur at.

DeChambeau is a math guy and knows what’s at stake leading into the TOUR Championship. Expect no stone to be left unturned in Chi-Town.

Webb Simpson – $10,100

I’m picking Webb Simpson to win the tournament so you know I’m going to highlight him as a BMW Championship DFS pick. Why wouldn’t I want to roster the man ranked 2nd in birdie average in a format that’s geared toward rewarding red numbers?

Armed with a couple of victories and the number-one scoring average on the PGA Tour, it’d be surprising if Webby didn’t notch his 9th top-8 of the season this week in Illinois.

Tyrrell Hatton – $8,300

Tyrell Hatton made just as many birdies as DJ did last week. He just made more mistakes and didn’t make a bunch of eagles. Nevertheless, it amounted to the Englishman’s 7th top-25 in nine official starts and has him locked into a tee time next week at East Lake Golf Club.

Hatton is a dangerous golfer, regardless of the setting. Free-wheeling it at Olympia Fields when many others are feeling the pressure – now that has me intrigued.

Cameron Smith – $7,300

I expanded on the positive trends in Cameron Smith’s golf game in my BMW Championship sleepers post. Here’s the quick version.

After a sluggish start coming out of the restart, Smith has connected on four straight cuts. He posted four rounds in the 60s last week and knows a solid effort at Olympia Fields punches his ticket to Atlanta.

Not every golfer relishes these types of moments. However, we’ll give those who can stare down Justin Thomas mano-a-mano the benefit of the doubt.

Corey Conners – $7,200

Plugging Corey Conners in at $7,200 gives you a chance to differentiate your lineup. It’s also your chance to roster one of the four players on the PGA Tour who’s currently ranked inside the top 20 in SG: Off-the-Tee and SG: Approach-the-Green.

With that being said, Conners is the one you can latch onto without paying top dollar.

Most people in this range will lean toward Kevin Na ($7,300), but you don’t want to be most people when you’re taking shots in GPPs.

Remember – when they zig, you want to zag.

Joel Dahmen – $6,500

Imagine a golfer was sitting at $6,500 who has already amassed 10 top-20s this season. Envision that same player arriving at Olympia Fields with nine consecutive rounds of 70 or better.

Now soak in that this “mystery man” is also the dude who finished 3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-2-3-3 to shoot 14-under-par in a money match with some buddies over the break.

I’m pretty sure there’s some value attached to Joel Dahmen as a BMW Championship DFS pick.

My 2020 BMW Championship DFS Lineup for GPPs

  • Bryson DeChambeau $10,600
  • Webb Simpson $10,1000
  • Tyrrell Hatton 8,300
  • Cameron Smith $7,300
  • Corey Conners $7,200
  • Joel Dahmen $6,500

Two guys over $10K and three below $7,500 qualifies this as a “stars and scrubs” lineup. Tyrrell Hatton glues everything together.

Once you’ve finalized your lineup, be sure to check out the rest of my BMW Championship picks. They can be found in our golf betting picks section.
