Blood Sweat and Tears are coming into the tie as the heavy favorite and you will understand why in a minute. Their opponents ETHEREAL have been a bit tentative during the regular season and playoffs of the ESEA season and will need a big performance if they are to break the “newcomers”.

Blood Sweat and Tears Analysis

If you haven’t been following the tournament closely, you’re probably asking yourself where did this team come from and why are they suddenly favorites to win the losers’ bracket final.

Here is the deal. Prior to Polar Ace North’s bout against timbermen, the players informed the organization that they will be splitting from them and start their own team. According to reports, there is no ill will between Polar Ace and the players, but you never know with these things.

Bottom line is that they are now called Blood Sweat and Tears and are practically the same roster with a different name. Captain 4pack is still there and shanks, Marved, retchy, and v1king make up the starting lineup.

Under the Polar Ace logo, the team achieved a 12-4 record in the regular season and with their first game after the transition, they handed timbermen a heavy 2:0 defeat after dominant performances on both Train and Overpass.

The team is just starting out so don’t be fooled by their current ranking position. The settling of scores with Polar Ace looks like it had a positive influence, but it’s still hard to tell what the long term repercussions will be.

ETHEREAL has done well to reach this stage of the tournament. March has seen them rack up three their wins in the ESEA tournament and a sole loss against Faint in a game which could’ve gone either way.

The last time they played outside the ESEA event, they lost 16-6 to Polar Ace North. The team they will now be facing under a new name.

Key players fden, wow, and RenZ were not decisive enough in the clutch moments against Faint, but did improve in their last match where they bested Trivium on Mirage and Overpass.

They will be hoping to bring their A-game once again since they’ll definitely need it here.

Blood Sweat and Tears vs. ETHEREAL Prediction and Pick

Now you should have a clearer picture of why Blood Sweat and Tears are the big favorite here. The same guys from the Polar Ace North roster have had a much better season overall. Expectations are that their team chemistry shouldn’t suffer since they know each other quite well.

ETHEREAL may be the worse team on paper, but I do feel they have an off chance here. There’s really no telling what the real aftermath of splitting from Polar Ace will be for 4pack and his teammates.

Yes, they did beat timbermen 2:0, but the same feat was achieved by ETHEREAL a few days back. Now that some time has passed for the decision to really set in, who knows what performance we might get from the group.

I see this as a good way to capitalize on some high odds and am willing to back ETHEREAL to get a hard-fought victory. They performed well in their last matchup and hold a better record than their opponents on maps like Mirage and Overpass.

Given the circumstances surrounding Blood Sweat and Tears, this is a rare opportunity and I can’t miss out on it.
