We are heading into the 2021-22 German Bundesliga season home stretch. With ten games remaining, Bayern Munich will clinch a tenth straight crown. No surprises there, right?

The current Bundesliga odds suggest that Bayern has all but wrapped up the title race. However, Borussia Dortmund hasn’t given up hope just yet. Let’s not forget about Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig, too.

This Bundesliga March update blog contains all the information you need to make a successful 2022 Bundesliga prediction. Below, I examine the latest Bundesliga odds, share some top Bundesliga betting tips, and provide my final Bundesliga prediction.

Ready? Let’s go!

The Bundesliga title odds are taken from 10Bet. If any of these prices take your fancy, why not visit 10Bet to lay down your Bundesliga betting predictions?

If you already know a thing or two about German soccer, you won’t be surprised to see Bayern Munich atop the Bundesliga odds for March. Bayern’s odds of winning the Bundesliga title in 2022 stand at just 1.10; such is their dominance.

At 26.00, Borussia Dortmund is viewed as Bayern’s only genuine challenger. Even so, Dortmund’s Bundesliga title odds for 2022 are gigantic compared to Bayern’s.

Thankfully, the best soccer betting sites also offer Bundesliga odds without Bayern Munich in the equation. This market often presents superior Bundesliga betting value.

2022 Bundesliga Odds (Without Bayern Munich)

Borussia Dortmund1.10
Bayer Leverkusen10.00
RB Leipzig17.00
Hoffenheim81.00
SC Freiburg151.00

Here are the latest Bundesliga odds without Bayern Munich. With the Bavarians well on their way to securing a tenth straight title, this market essentially allows you to wager on the runner-up.

Dortmund is the heavy favorite to finish closest to Bayern this season. That said, Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig both stand a very realistic chance of overtaking Dortmund between now and the end of the campaign.

As you will see when we evaluate the Bundesliga table in the following section, Hoffenheim and SC Freiburg are also in the mix to finish second. Both Hoffenheim and Freiburg’s Bundesliga odds to win this market are hugely attractive.

To make a successful 2022 Bundesliga prediction, we need to analyze the current Bundesliga standings.

Current 2022 Bundesliga Standings

The 2022 Bundesliga table is a familiar sight for followers of German soccer. As is customary, Bayern Munich leads the way, with Dortmund bridging the gap between the frontrunner and the chasing pack.

It is worth noting that every team has played 24 games, meaning ten games are remaining this season.

CURRENT BUNDESLIGA STANDINGS (TOP HALF)
Team Wins Draws Losses Goal Difference Points
Bayern Munich 19 1 4 +49 58
Borussia Dortmund 16 2 6 +27 50
Bayer Leverkusen 13 5 6 +24 44
RB Leipzig 12 4 8 +22 40
SC Freiburg 11 7 6 +13 40
Hoffenheim 12 4 8 +11 40
Union Berlin 10 7 7 0 37
FC Koln 9 9 6 –2 36
Mainz 10 4 10 +6 34

The bookmakers’ Bundesliga outright winner odds make a lot of sense when you see the Bundesliga standings, right? Bayern holds an eight-point lead over BVB, while Leverkusen is six points shy of second place – and 14 points behind Bayern!

Interestingly, Leipzig, Freiburg, and Hoffenheim are locked on 40 points. It is not inconceivable that one of those teams could go on an unbeaten streak and make a late charge toward the top of the Bundesliga table.

Why Bayern Munich Is the Clear Favorite

When Hansi Flick left his role as Bayern Munich manager to lead the German national team at the end of last season, Julian Nagelsmann took the reins at Allianz Arena. Predictably, not a lot has changed in Bavaria.

Of course, Nagelsmann’s approach is different from Flick’s but the results are the same. The 34-year-old has overseen 19 wins in 24 Bundesliga games this season, meaning his team is on course to secure a tenth consecutive title.

Not only have the Bavarians won each of the last nine titles, but they have also won 18 of the previous 25. That tells you everything you need to know about the club’s dominance.

BUNDESLIGA TITLES (LAST 25 YEARS)
  • Bayern Munich – 18
  • Borussia Dortmund – 3
  • FC Kaiserslautern – 1
  • VfB Stuttgart – 1
  • VfL Wolfsburg – 1
  • Werder Bremen – 1

Across all competitions this season, four Bayern players have reached double figures for goals. Leroy Sane (13 goals, 13 assists) is enjoying a phenomenal campaign, alongside Serge Gnabry (12 goals, 9 assists) and the evergreen Thomas Muller (10 goals, 22 assists).

Still, one man stands out from the crowd – Robert Lewandowski. The unstoppable striker has netted a mammoth 39 goals in 33 games this term, including 28 in 24 Bundesliga outings.

Believe it or not, Lewandowski has outscored six Bundesliga TEAMS this season. The German top flight has been home to many of the best soccer players of all time, but Lewandowski is already among the top ten players in Bundesliga history.

The Top 10 Players in Bundesliga History

As one of Europe’s top soccer leagues, the Bundesliga has been home to legions of amazing players since its inception in 1963. But who are the greatest players in Bundesliga history? Bayern Munich has dominated German soccer in recent times, luring many...

Other Bundesliga Teams in Contention for the Title

Yes, Bayern already has one hand on the trophy. But with ten rounds left on the Bundesliga schedule, there are still 30 points up for grabs. That means a couple of teams could overtake Bayern if things go their way.

It’s time to take a closer look at the teams that are still within touching distance of Nagelsmann’s winning machine.

Can Borussia Dortmund Disrupt Bayern’s Dominance?

When making pre-season Bundesliga predictions, Borussia Dortmund always gets mentioned as a potential title challenger. However, they have failed to break Bayern’s hegemony over the past decade.

BVB won back-to-back titles in 2011 and 2012. Since then, they have finished as runners-up to the Bavarians on five occasions – including 2019 and 2020. They finished third last season, 14 points behind Bayern.

This season, Marcos Rose’s men have won 16 of their 24 league matches. That is by no means a bad record, but it leaves them eight points behind the leaders with ten Bundesliga fixtures remaining.

Star striker Erling Haaland has missed much of the campaign through injury. When he has played, though, he has shown the Black and Yellows what they are missing. In only 14 Bundesliga appearances, the Norwegian prodigy has bagged 16 goals and six assists.

If the latest Ballon d’Or odds are anything to go by, Haaland is among the players who could win the Ballon d’Or in 2022. Firing Dortmund to Bundesliga glory would certainly help his case.

Could Bayer Leverkusen Finish atop the Bundesliga Standings?

It wouldn’t be unfair to say that Bayer Leverkusen endured an inconsistent first half of the campaign. More recently, however, the team has been firing on all cylinders.

Gerardo Seoane’s men have won five of their past six matches and have scored at least two goals in each of their previous seven. When you look at the bigger picture, they have lost just three of their last 14 games – picking up eight wins along the way.

Bayern has Lewandowski, while Dortmund has Haaland. Well, Leverkusen has Patrik Schick. This term, the Czech striker has netted 20 goals in as many Bundesliga outings, putting him second in the Golden Boot standings.

BUNDESLIGA TOP SCORERS (2021-22 SEASON)
Player Team Goals Games Goals Per 90
Robert Lewandowski Bayern Munich 28 24 1.21
Patrick Schick Bayer Leverkusen 20 20 1.15
Erling Haaland Borussia Dortmund 16 14 1.26

The 14-point gulf between third and first looks vast at the moment. But if Leverkusen beats Bayern in Round 25, the vast gulf will become a sizeable gap. Who knows what could happen after that?

Sleepers for the Bundesliga 2022 Season

Locked on 40 points, Leipzig, Hoffenheim, and Freiburg are still – just about – in the title conversation. Although their Bundesliga champion odds are high, it is worth evaluating their chances.

Will RB Leipzig Dominate the Remainder of the Bundesliga Schedule?

Leipzig’s rise has been nothing short of astronomical. Founded in 2009, the Saxony club started in the fifth tier of German soccer before reaching the Bundesliga in 2016. Pretty impressive, huh?

Across the past five seasons, the Red Bulls have recorded two second-place finishes and two third-place finishes. They ended the previous campaign as runners-up, finishing a point ahead of Dortmund and 13 points behind Bayern.

This season, the team made a slow start under Jesse Marsch – leading to the American’s sacking in December. However, under the guidance of Domenico Tedesco, Leipzig has suffered just two losses in ten league games.

Having won six of their previous seven, the Red Bulls are stampeding up the Bundesliga standings. Catching Bayern will be difficult, but they could chase down second place.

What Can Hoffenheim Achieve with Their Bundesliga Fixtures?

Just like RB Leipzig, Hoffenheim is relatively new to the Bundesliga. The club was promoted to the top flight in 2008 and has established itself as a Bundesliga regular in recent years.

Hoffenheim’s glory years came between 2017 and 2019 when Nagelsmann was at the helm. The current Bayern boss guided his team to fourth and third-place finishes, getting Hoffenheim into the UEFA Champions League for the very first time.

Today, Hoffenheim is led by Sebastian Hoeneß and currently sits sixth in the Bundesliga table. Hoeneß’s boys head into Round 25 on a three-game winning streak – a winning streak that could be the catalyst for a late-season charge.

Is it Too Late for SC Freiburg to Upset the Bundesliga Odds?

As it stands, Freiburg is sandwiched between Leipzig and Hoffenheim in the standings. However, the bookies’ Bundesliga odds suggest that Leipzig and Hoffenheim have the upper hand over Christian Streich’s side. But I’m not sure that’s entirely fair.

Freiburg is extremely difficult to beat. Only Bayern Munich has suffered fewer losses this season. It is also worth pointing out that Freiburg boasts the joint-best defensive record in the division, alongside (you guessed it) Bayern.

Streich’s men have won three of their last five games and have only lost two of their previous nine. If teams above them falter, there is no reason why they can’t snatch second place.

Prediction for Who Will Win the Bundesliga in 2022

When it comes to Bundesliga betting, picking the title winner has been relatively straightforward in recent times. Before the start of every campaign over the past decade, the majority of bettors’ Bundesliga season predictions have been dominated by Bayern Munich.

Once again, Bayern will – almost certainly – lift the trophy when the campaign ends on May 14. Although Dortmund will still be confident of upsetting the Bundesliga odds, time is running out.

Naturally, my 2022 Bundesliga prediction favors Bayern to win the title. But Bayern’s odds to win the Bundesliga are stupidly low. I recommend exploring the “Without Bayern Munich” market if you want to get the best possible Bundesliga betting value.

Priced at 10.00, I like the look of Bayer Leverkusen to finish second. Led by the prolific Schick, Seoane’s men have won five of their last six games and currently find themselves just six points behind Dortmund.
