Six teams already qualified for the BLAST Premier: Fall 2020 Finals and there are only two spots left in one of the most prestigious CS:GO tournaments. All the top squads in North America and Europe want a place there and they will have a chance to earn it during the Fall Showdown.
The event features 16 teams that will face each other in a single-elimination bracket until a winner is decided. The two top sides will go to the Finals in December, so the stakes are high.
The leading CS:GO betting sites already published their BLAST Premier: Fall 2020 Showdown odds, so it’s time to explore them. After I go through the prices, I share my thoughts on the most likely winners of the competition that starts on November 23.

As you can see, we have several clear favorites and a couple of teams that look doomed. The likes of Evil Geniuses, FURIA, and Complexity are leading the way. Most bookmakers expect to see two of them in the BLAST Premier: Fall 2020 Showdown final and that’s hardly a surprise.
All three squads have the talent to succeed and look head and shoulders above the rest. And yet, there are at least several sides that could upset the odds. Let’s not forget that this is a single-elimination bracket format.
There are no group stage and losers’ bracket, so every defeat leads to a knockout. There’s no room for error and that opens the door to more surprises than usual.
With that in mind, let’s take a look at the top contenders for the BLAST Premier: Fall 2020 Showdown.
Likely Winners of the BLAST Fall Showdown
I believe that several teams can certainly win the competition, so let’s take a look at them.
The Spring edition of the 2020 BLAST Premier was still separated by regions and Evil Geniuses won in America. The team loves the competition and will be desperate to earn a spot in the Fall Finals too.
EG had a chance to do that through the Regular Season, but failed after two defeats versus OG and NiP. The squad has to improve for the upcoming competition because it will face strong opponents from both Europe and the Americas.
The talent and experience are there for Evil Geniuses, so if we see the best version of the team, the guys could end up winning the BLAST Premier: Fall 2020 Showdown.
A quick look at Complexity’s results in the past month or so shows a bunch of defeats. The side lost multiple times against some of the best CS:GO teams in Europe, but most of the matches were really close.
I’m sure that Complexity is dying to show the rest of the field that it belongs in the elite and qualifying for the BLAST Premier: Fall 2020 Finals is the way to do it. Most of the teams that beat the side in October will be there, so getting revenge on such a stage would be awesome.
It’s interesting to see how the new signing jks can help Complexity. He should fill in the role of oBo who stepped down in September and the early signs are good. The Australian was the best player against BIG and his impact should only grow as he builds chemistry with his teammates.
2020 has been excellent for FURIA and the Brazilian organization firmly became part of the CS:GO top tier after winning multiple tournaments this year. The ESL Pro League Season 12: NA and Intel Extreme Masters XV: New York are the most recent among them.
FURIA’s success was built around a lineup that has been together for a while. There are no stars in the sense that the side doesn’t count on one player to carry the rest. Everyone can contribute and I believe this is one of the most balanced rosters in CS:GO right now.
On the negative side, FURIA looked sloppy in the BLAST Premier Regular Season and failed to qualify for the Finals from the first attempt. I expect a much better performance in the second and this certainly is one of the sides that could win.
The three teams above are the main contenders for the BLAST Premier: Fall 2020 Showdown, but there are several dark horses that could win too. Team Liquid is a traditionally strong squad that can always rise to the occasion.
The same can be said for Virtus.pro and NiP, while MIBR might be one of the most underestimated CS:GO teams in the world right now. The Brazilians made a number of roster changes and everyone expects them to struggle, but the early signs show that the new guys are extremely talented.
I don’t think that the other participants have a realistic chance of winning the competition, but you never know in single bracket eliminations.
